Time for Mongolia to kick corruption out and be civilised and grant land access to the companies that have paid money to explore.
Few of other companies are in similar situation. Cabinet approval must have weight and must be above the governor.
He simply cannot be the judge.
Wos do you know why middle east countries like Dubai and Saudi are successful.
Because they get foreign companies and foreigners to do everything for them. They just enjoy life. Specially in Dubai.
The secret to success is get someone else to do the work for you and make money managing.
Not we want big pie of everything but we do not have money to invest.
Why are African countries poor . Corruption. Big companies taking advantage of the poor by just making few rich in power.
Why is china rich. No corruption at high level. Death penalty for corruption.
Any country that has corruption at top level are usually poor. Just like Mongolia.
Wos when you see something wrong it's wise to point out.
Both are useless. CEO and the government.
Why are they not successful.
What Mongolia needs is honest people. Have business minded people. Stop hostility towards foreign companies and throw the mentality of this our land and we want it for ourselves out of window.
One man is even scaring the current investors away from Mongolia. Petro china diverting their money to Russia.
IMO PC will probably sell up and invest in friendly Russian as china and Russia has good relations. Russia probably has lots more to offer on friendly terms.
Mongolia will remain cash poor for decades to come.
If I was MB I would give few interviews on Bloomberg and other economy news channels and make some noise.
Being Mr nice don't get you anywhere.
Reading the article and it clearly shows Mongolia is run by people who do not have business sense. Or even common sense.
They invest 1.5bn to build refinery via a loan that will need paying back. Yet no action plan behind it. No feed stock sourced from the beginning.
They have feeding stock right under their feet yet they want to be awkward and try proof that they are protecting the environment.
Looks like India will find it hard to get their money back.
They dream big and want to be like the middle east. Keep dreaming I say
RNs might come next week or so. It has been 2 1/2 months since PM got the approval.
I ask the local this morning is there going to be a problem for Petro Matad to get access to block 20. His answer was no problem
In fact I can do 100% better job than the current CEO.
If I can contact people sat at home , why the hell has he failed to contact the activists and the locals..
I have not once seen him visiting the locals to say don't worry we will not forget you. Instead he has been sending minions who have no authority.
Good CEO should know how to interact with both shareholders and the locals .that's the key to success.
Keep your enemies closer.
The only way this is going to succeed is either the Mongolian shareholders manage or we need someone with fire and a clout. Not a push over.
Time for a change. He just doesn't shine .
hamm . we all know the failure of this company lies with the ceo.
he has failed to secure any solid arrangements..
no arrangements with pc
no arrangements with dqe
no arrangements with the government on new blocks
no arrangements with locals on land access.
his success has been at raising money.
since he has taken charge he has had 0 success.
i said last year this guy has to be gone as he is useless and i keep saying it. the reason why we are where we are is 100% to do with mb.
he could not organise a ****up in a brewery comes to mind.
I wonder if the government is involved in this corruption. Hence we have been passed from one agency to the next..
The government has the power to implement the cabinet approval. What is stopping this process.
If it's approved by the cabinet isn't that above any single person.
The question is why has the land access become an issue in the first place.

Translating the interview with the mining minister. They are obviously looking for more companies to invest in oil exploration. He said Petro china oil is declining and they need oil investments to keep feeding the refinery which requires 1.5m tonnes of oil ..
No idea why he isn't dictating the local governor..
They found no investors.
Looks like the Mongols are stuck with the Chinese.
No investors found for oil extraction after doing all these tours to find investors.
I wonder why.
Best thing MB can do is take them to international court and get every penny that he has invested in Mongolia.
