Jplay the clue was in the RNS you quoted; “ahead of Dow's mass production facility in Choenan coming on line.” They were supplying quantities for testing Dow were to supply the commercial volume ie ahead of Dow mass production

For my two pennies worth I tend to disagree with jplay/mrplay etal new technology is always difficult to integrate as we saw with acer/ASUS it took two years for the panel to get to market. Also a minor point about some of the random comments made Runcorn until 18 months ago was just a lab facility with no manufacturing capability. That changed with the evolution of the process which now allows mass production. So there have not been masses of dots produced. They were made for testing products by all the OEMs highlighted in presentations that were made. Staff numbers have been increasing so at present one can only assume production has also. It has been stated a number of products are coming to market this is in the hands of the OEMs so patience is required. As an addition I have been pondering the first US partner contract. The factory space will be ready in July, commercial production commences in January. Obviously some testing needs to be done but there is also a likelihood that product supplies will commence prior to January but may be not in ‘commercial’ quantities. The next news should be completion of the facility and the next interim payment.

Their panel update is worth a read. ASUS have just announced a new panel this month, which is the CG32 a console gaming monitor with 95 per cent DCI-P3. It is becoming difficult to readily identify qd monitors as descriptions are not always including the reference consistently even in monitors previously shown to have them at CES shows. One point to be taken from the panel updates is that there are a number of panels scheduled for production with 90 per cent+ dci-p3 such as 27”, 35”,43”,65”, borderless 27” then there are 4K and 8k TVs. There has to be a parallel with Nano taking on production staff and Wah Hong expanding production referencing Nano and the use of stock by AUO. There is a limit of existing QDs available before cadfree stock comes into play.

The Asus ROG Swift PG27UQ was the first model announced featuring this new panel, offering a really impressive feature set even beyond the 3840 x 2160 resolution @ 144Hz which is exciting enough. A borderless version of the same 4K @ 144HZ with 384-zone FALD panel is expected to go in to production in Q3 2018 as well which will signal the next development phase for those high end HDR gaming screens.”

Just seen a synopsis of a report on sensors, although these are not always comprehensive it names leading players. One thing that stands out with Nano is that they partner with leading companies in their field and Merc, Dow and Wah Hong are all examples. Can be seen the amount included the research with Merc that the investment required was probably too much for Nano’s capital in 2016.

We could do with a few more qd entrepreneurs like care wear. They are motoring compare to rest of industry.

BP the PLT product was cdse so cadmium based. Whether they bought the co to produce, develop or block the product or convert to cfqd who knows. They are committed to cfqd as the article that follows shows.
