So why Nanosys. It could be that LG can support Samsung in the mobile market as they will lose display business from Apple if Apple go the MicroLED route. They may want to use Samsung IP via Nanosys as a trade off to provide panels for Samsung. Or it might be Apple have already staked their qd provider leaving the Koreans little choice?

With LGs move qd companies might finally see true value for their IP cannot see it reaching 18p again Nocky DYOR

Imagine the impact if mobile phones go MicroLED the fight between Samsung and Apple for qds will be huge.

Max we probably have just had confirmation of a seismic shift which appeared initially with the appearance of MicroLED however it will take sometime for MicroLED to reach the big screens in the market although there is the odd prototype about now. Therefore OLED will be with us a bit longer. It is likely to come under threat in the mobile area to start with. So in terms of your tv choice it is solely a matter for you personal preference.

Yes the conclusions by Yole make more sense following this move by LG as the largest protagonist for OLED is now investing inQDs. I wonder what the followers of LG make ie the other OLED oems.

Bit of an admission by LG that they need qds. Inevitable that current qd production is inadequate if the 2nd major display producer has capitulated. Cannot use phosphers for miniled and MicroLED is this where OLED now contracts?

The rules regarding Directors buying and selling shares are very clear. There are close periods prior to the preparation of accounts where directors cannot deal. In fact if correct procedures are in place at N permission would be required by any Director before dealing even outside the close period. This significantly limits the time shares can be bought/sold. This is one reason why Lombard may not become a Director.
