Yes it is held In the balance sheet until revenue matches with the product or service delivery. So if that payment in advance from last year relates to products/services this year that will be transferred to the p&l acoount from the balance sheet £2.8m+£1.6m=£4.4m ytd.

I believe one of the suppliers is a global sensor manufacturer that provide not only to Apple but to a large number of OEMs. They already refer to qds on their site as identified by Edison

Have been reading about some ‘apple’ providers that the market considers are suppliers of Apple. The companies supply components to other companies that compile parts that are supplied to Apple. These component manufacturers never mention their clients but are recognised as grade 1 US companies. This is likely to be the case with Nano as I expect that deliverables will be to other component makers not directly to Apple.

Absolutely IQE not affected, in fact should be abenefiaciary as they replaced Qualcomm. However at the moment it appears that if the market has a negative on Apple it affects all suppliers. May explain the price fall. One would think the market is more sophisticated and consider the wider client base but some market makers are all mouth no brains so the trend dominates the industry etc. Market will learn with experience and track record which is not sufficient at present.

Tech giant is embroiled in multiple legal disputes with chipmaker Qualcomm
A Chinese court issued an injunction on Tuesday against imports and sales of most of Apple’s iPhone line-up after US-based chipmaker Qualcomm accused the tech giant of violating two of its patents.
The contested patents relate to photo editing and touchscreen apps, and can be found in all models from 2015’s iPhone 6S to last year’s iPhone X.
However, the Financial Times claims Qualcomm had also been seeking to ban this year’s iPhone XS and XR models prior to today’s announcement.
An Apple spokesperson told Reuters: “Early next week we will deliver a software update for iPhone users in China addressing the minor functionality of the two patents at issue in the case.”
But the company insisted that its smartphones were compliant “based on the iPhone models we offer today in China”.
While court approval should allow Apple to continue selling older iPhones in China, it’s unlikely to bring its “dispute” with Qualcomm to an end, says The Verge.

I did not mention below the company is a component manufacturer in wireless technology.

So the largest shareholder LO acquired a further 4.7m shares. They also managed to do it without the buys being reported unless of course the sells were in fact only buys. Expect the sp to react more than that if that was the case. Shouldn’t take much news to move the price.

NW this may be a bit off the wall but the reduction in supplier orders was the laser manufacturer Lutemum that supplies facial recognition and front facing 3D camera. Sounds a bit familiar what if the ir sensors are incorporated into different product makers and Apple have enough stock with reduced supplies to get through the next 6 months.

Page9 “We are also negotiating a number of new commercial revenue opportunities for our services in advance of material production revenues and will inform the market as they are won.”
Difficult market at moment but news will move the price.

If Apple is the US partner and qds are preferred choice for microled it may not just be or sensors required by the leading light in microled development as their policy is as green as they come.
