One of my reservations is thus. Investors Chronicle put VRS on sell note in November.
Now I do take what I read with a heavy pinch of salt .
However they go on to say that if and when a big contract comes in VRS wont have the funds to actually carry the order out.
And we have had this shock therapy this week viz a viz share price pricing making a future fund raise trcky.

Your thoughts would be welcome...

Just to say I looked to buy this morning.
Price is lowish BUT I was put off by over 5 % short positions. And the fact they have increased their
position in the last month . Their rational ight be misplaced but I have burnt .y fingers on shorted stock before.
On my radar...( The world wide gaming industry is worth some £150 bil)

Dear BB...Some morsals of information to chew there.. You know I still gold NCC and added to SNN
which you brought to our attention.
I have to say I bought Lookers at 49p but bailed out at 53 p so costs paid for. I think cars generally will have their time later.
Metro Bank..lI tell you this .On a personal level people love to use this outfit. And I appreciate their philosophy of real time real street banking
But banks generally in a climate of ultra low interest rates is mot for me.
As for gold apart from ACA I m here I go in and out of HGM
..very low costs of production.
And Super I m watching STOB ..if I see it under 120p..I m in...Up the Palace !

Morning...Just a note to thank the posters here for the quality of the opinions put here in the last few years. When I first saw the banter between BB and SC I imagined two market makers in desks next to each other spinning yarns ! But then of course the write ups were too good. So they had to be two analysts in support of ACA . But then I thought no these guys are better than that too!
What have we learnt? Well of course to have bought more when the SP hit 70 p .
Also I m looking at myself in the mirror. When Mark Bristow offered his fist offer for ACA 170 p or so...I like many others were outraged. I thought of the article in the FT were he talks of the hunting for big game in Africa . Not my cup of tea.
And here I m waiting for my Bartick share conversion. And the special dividend . Is the latter going to let us down too. But with no BB to vent our temporay anger. It is with a heavy heart I take the Barrick shares .

SS of course I made a note of your highlighting the Chinese and the Smelter. As mentioned previously I thought the Smelter issue would raise its head again. The Chinese like to get in on infrasture projects . As in Zambia and Congo.
And one tenant for the Tanzanians is job creation and this is one way. Isn't to day s weather smashing ?

Some points here for what's worth 1) Always remember what scenarios we can come up with 50 % of this outcome is the Tanzanians . They have basically all the cards ..they can revoke agreements..they can lift export bans and they demand whatever taxes of profits.
Is it Franky that comes up with the Tribal stories. They might be far off the mark but at least he has ago. 95% of the posts here talk about the miners side because what we can at least know something about. Do you remember all the talk of the Smelter two years ago.?
I bet that suddenly comes up again.
2) I had shares in Lonmin . That was a company that had severe local issues and strikes that made our own miners strikes of 1984 looking like a tea party. Now those shares are Steybeye Still and are somewhat higher than when I held Lonmim. Some hope there I guess.
3) Console ourselves that the glorious shorters ..Odey and others will be using their recourse to maximise their investment. All to our benefit.

The market is generally very nervous and any grey news is causing stock downgrades . Hold onto gold in any of its forms....

BB...I always take note when you share tip. I bought NCC and SNN when those fell and I am still holding my gains. I dipped my toe into LOK and that's all for now...too many dark clouds
You like your Metro bank...!..I wish it well for various reasons but too much of a helter skelter share for me.

Super...No Headmaster in Pucks Cottage .My uncle was co founder of an engineering private company called Egertons based in St Mary Cray. Main things were fully adjustable hospital beds and above ground telecoms joining systems. Eventually sold to a US outfit for a tidy sum.

Were the original coffee cafes place owners were it all began ! 300 years ! I had no idea that reinsurance was so prevalent for the syndicates.
Does it mean that the reinsureres are themselves reininsured and it goes on full circle? And surely the reinsurance was only in the last 50 years or so ?..
