I don’t follow the horses much myself, but Maximus (named after Havieron) the border collie had been mithering me to borrow a fiver all day yesterday to put a bet on the Grand National. I gave in this morning but I’ve no idea what horse he has backed. He just kept saying “it’s a sign,it’s a sign”
It’s about time, you’ve been sitting on them long enough 😀
From the Top album: RIO Greatland J.V. Good
I just got paid today
Got me a pocket full of change
Said, black sheep, black, do you got some wool?
Yes, I do, man, my ISA’s full
It's the root of evil and you know the rest
But tax exempt for Greatland’s best
I hear what people are saying but give him some due 6p is not bad though compared to what he started with is it? If I’m honest I wouldn’t have turned it down when I first invested in GGP, I wish all CEO’s had managed to increase my investments by such proportions. I think SD is doing a good job at Greatland and I think GH also did a good job,CEO’s do what they do and then pass the baton on.

Greatland Gold was an explorer under Gervaise’s tenure. His remit was to move assets up the value curve, which he did. He wasn’t there to build and fund a mining company.
So I’m off today to hopefully see the phenomenon that is the Arnside bore, they say even a galloping horse cannot outrun it.
Next I want to see the phenomenon that is the Greatland bore ( and I don’t mean any poster on here, me included 😀), that moment when the tide turns and overcomes the pressure of the outflow against it, they say even a galloping bourse will not keep up with it.
Must be getting close to spring the tide turning news upon us.
The currant situation is no raisin.
And if the gold price was $1000 how interested would the banks be in funding.
Yep, it would be interesting to have the statistics for the percentage of stop loss trades executed say within 5 minutes of hitting the designated price when the share price then continues to fall compared to when the share price then suddenly rises again.
And not related but it’s time or for my annual whinge about why it takes so long for Bed and ISA’s to go through in this age of electronic wizardry.
I use neither of them anymore.

From 2019, the sound quality is a bit poor so I’ve added my own imaginary subtitles.
“Callum, try not to look impressed, bide our time and they’ll be begging us to take it off their hands in a few years.”
“I don’t know about you Gervaise, but I’m a geologist, core drills are one thing, but ball mills and crushers ain’t my SAG, I think we might need a few additions to the board.”
“You’re probably right Callum, anyone in mind? Anyway enough of this, best get back, got a house to go and view and I thought you had some boats to look at.”
I’m confident from my own research and the experience of the GGP team that Greatland can get funding they may require and I’m confident the present SP more than covers means of funding and any risks. I’m also of the opinion the team are well suited to the task ahead. So I’m holding and probably buying more at this price. No problem if others aren’t happy with the risks and sell or wait to buy though. All about risk/reward.

Tinners you are right, you should wait until you have answers to all your simple questions and then invest. Good luck. Wonder what the SP will be then?
Hi Dip, I’m thinking more along the lines of that there is not a direct correlation between a value GGP may have put on an additional 5% on top of 25 or 30% and each subsequent 5% as for one thing there is additional risk with the greater amount they would own. Plus the risk of it no longer being a JV.

I think the difference in this scenario is it is a negotiation rather than a FMV exercise. Based more on what GGP consider to be a compelling price for the lot plus the additional risk and what price makes sense for Newmont to do the deal at and reduce their risk, operating costs and their debt.Very different situation under different circumstances.

Hi sandgrounded,
Greatland Gold has in fact transparently taken consideration that there might, or might appear to be circumstances where the Wyloo connection to some directors could be seen to possibly affect their judgement and commented accordingly in Corporate governance under Independence of directors section page 30.
https://greatlandgold.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Greatland-2023-Annual-Report.pdf
Therefore I would conclude that should there ever be an offer by Wyloo to purchase Greatland Gold the board would have to be extremely confident they could justify and defend recommending the offer or any other action and not have a conflict of interest.
I wasn’t very academic in my school days (not much changed). My school reports had nothing good to say. But the only vaguely useful comment in them was “Mark would do well, to concentrate more on what he was doing, than concerning himself with what everyone else around him was up to.”
Shorts…..meh.
Great opportunity….yeah.
Then buy even more again.
Buy more.
Even more than you could if it was 6p.
Agreed TT.Doesn’t matter if I’m invested in a gold miner, a gold explorer, gold mine developer or the Golden Dragon takeaway in the village I’d rather the gold price was doing well than the opposite.
Aye up Tourist, reminds me of gold at the surface at Black hills.
