Yeah, it’s the nature of the beast, pun intended, that the contract is constantly evolving.
There does always seem to be an amount of “wiggle room” with this type of contract.
The thing with the Byrnecut contract is that it is cost reimbursable with KPI based margin. I imagine due to so many unknowns Byrnecut would not have been willing to agree a fixed price contract and therefore Newmont/Newcrest will have stipulated the KPI’s which need to be met in absence of the certainty of a fixed price. It will have been difficult for either side to agree/negotiate on a KPI for timescales until ground conditions could be more certain. Just my opinion but hopefully that’s where it is now at and Byrnecut are confident enough to agree a completion date for the exploration decline only, which if not met will impact their profit margin.
Only guessing though.
Hi Mattyboy,
reading that and then especially the footnotes at the end remind me to never complain about the SP and how lucky I am.
Very interesting story.
I’ve moved now but good part of the country. You might have guessed but I should have said “the one on the right” an expensive mistake Lol.
Hi Leftos, you can still pick up some vintage D.B.s for a few grand.

Two very different DB’s. The one on the left is more suitable for me (and more my budget)
The David Brown museum was just over the hill to where I used to live and in summer they used to bring all the classic “open top” DB’s out for a run.A bit different to the ones Leftos dad had but very connected.A lot of British engineering history in the David Brown name.
“I will not buy anymore shares.”
Ah well there meant to be broken.
Ha ha best thing with this bet is if anyone wins, we all win. Plus it’s a free bet, we’ve already won with Havieron everything else is a bonus.
Thanks to Stuart for flagging that a date has now been put on the Byrnecut website regarding their Havieron contract completion date. Changed from TBA, maybe they were awaiting info. on the management of the lower aquifer before committing to a date.

Happy New Year
Just for fun, pick one and you can only have one.

Not easy is it? I wouldn’t like to bet against any, I know that.
Interesting. Always a lot to learn from nature.
Ha ha, now that makes even my car look sporty.
Aye up Tom,
Had a discovery, the engine sucked in the oil and wrecked itself. Turned off the engine and took the keys out and it kept running. It closed the motorway in rush hour with the smoke. Doubt I was very popular.
Enjoy the AM
Ha ha, similar Ben.I do like other people having nice sports cars. But for me if it can’t get up a 1 in 3 in the snow it’s no good and if it costs more than a small house to fix if it crashes going down the other side then no good to me either. Subaru Forester again for me next, automatic, take me feet of the pedals and it feels like your being winched up a ski slope. Won’t win any beauty contests but neither will I.
Like all great land machines you invest in you can just sit back and be confident they’ll do their stuff.
Havieron is a beast I’ve got its number 😀
Sellmethispen I think you are taking some posts a bit too seriously.
Happy Christmas.
Considering the size of Havieron, I think 66.6p would be more appropriate.
Good luck all.
Havieron is awesome
Some say pretty
It’s as big as a city
When Newmont start underground drilling
They’ll find even more
Tom Palmer was thinking
All the drill teams were singing
They couldn’t find the bottom
Though try as they might
The boys(and girls)of the Wyloo and Greatland Gold choir
Were singing hail Shaun Day
And the MRE is finally out
Before Christmas Day
Happy Christmas everyone and a prosperous New Year
“Caterpillar developed its first battery electric prototype underground mining truck with voice of customer input and support from Newmont Corporation. The companies are collaborating to achieve Newmont’s vision of a fully connected, automated, zero carbon emitting, end-to-end mining system.”

Suppose with all the latest and ongoing developments regarding the transition to electric and autonomous mining machinery and Havieron being a clean slate to work with it’s no wonder it’s taking time to possibly incorporate it all into the feasibility study.
