I first invested in GGP in 2017 and Element1 is right, basically I just got lucky. I never try and pass it off in my case as anything other than 5% research, 5% gut feeling and 90% pure luck, you have no choice but to deal with bad luck that comes your way so i certainly won’t turn down the other variety. I do remember though when Newmont decided to not move further with Ernest Giles, Gervaise Heddle did an interview and in it he said words to the effect of, no problem we’ve got something else very interesting that we’re working on. I can’t remember his exact words but it was more the conviction with which he said it, it definitely stood out.
Anyway I’m just a chancer, but what attracted some of our slightly newer, much larger and very much more sophisticated investors?
