I first invested in GGP in 2017 and Element1 is right, basically I just got lucky. I never try and pass it off in my case as anything other than 5% research, 5% gut feeling and 90% pure luck,you have no choice but to deal with bad luck that comes your way so i certainly won’t turn down the other variety. I do remember though when Newmont decided to not move further with Ernest Giles, Gervaise Heddle did an interview and in it he said words to the effect of, no problem we’ve got something else very interesting that we’re working on. I can’t remember his exact words but it was more the conviction with which he said it, it definitely stood out.

Anyway I’m just a chancer,but what attracted some of our slightly newer,much larger and very much more sophisticated investors?

Hi Tony, it might be worth you checking out Artemis Resources (ticker ARV on ASX and AIM) as an example, which is cross listed on ASX and AIM. You could observe it’s share price on AIM when it closes and check it on ASX when that exchange opens, obviously taking into consideration exchange rate.

I don’t know if you are getting the 0.9% figure you quote from the section below which is part of the “Surrender of Director and employee share options” RNS 22 April 2024

“The number of Greatland Shares to be subscribed for by the holders of surrendered Director Options and Employee Options will depend upon the VWAP of Greatland Shares on the trading day immediately prior to date of the share issue. For illustration only, if all Director Options and Employee Options are surrendered and the subscription price were 14.48 pence (i.e. the same as the last closing price of Greatland Shares on 17 April 2025), then an aggregate of approximately 114,114,000 Greatland Shares would be subscribed for by the holders, representing approximately 0.9% of Greatland Shares currently on issue. This would be significantly less than the dilution that would occur if all Director Options and Employee Options on issue, which in aggregate represent 3.8% of Greatland Shares on issue, were exercised.”

Just be aware that 0.9% figure in the text above is not related to any possible offer of shares that may or may not be conducted as part of the ASX listing.

Everyone knows you can only use a drill on Rottnest between 0800 and 1600 hours Monday to Friday NOT Sunday.

I think the only takeover interest Wyloo have in Greatland is making sure no one else does it.

Without the Wyloo call option deed there would be a risk that after the lock in period a third party could purchase a large percentage of the company from Newmont on the cheap right under Wyloo’s ( and our) nose. I’d have been more concerned and surprised if it hadn’t been part of the deal. Wyloo are understandably just protecting their interest IMO.

Hi MFU, If I am correct.They are surrendering their previous options, in consideration of this they will receive a payment from Greatland. They will then subscribe for newly issued shares and use 50% of the payment from Greatland to pay back to Greatland for the newly issued shares. My point is just that they are not purchasing existing shares on the market.

Hi MFU,I don’t like to be the one to post this, but unless I’m reading it wrong,these will be newly issued shares, but the dilution will be a lot less than the previous arrangement. So a positive but not quite as positive maybe as some think.
