Compound.
I take on board what you say. However, your bullish opinion is dependent on your view point. If you first invested in BP last Oct/Nov sub £2 then your view is going to be very different from an investor in BP from pre pandemic times who, are sitting with a massive losses either crystallised or on paper.
To rub salt in their wounds, the dividend was also cut by 50%. Understandable in the circumstances but ' Understandable' doesn't pay the bills of those who relied, maybe naively, on the regular income from the dividend.
BP does not provide a 6% dividend. It would if you were in at £2.50. It is now under 5 % at current SP so only approx 1.4 per quarter, not 6% per quarter as you state, and a fraction of this if you invested in BP pre- pandemic. However, I am sure it will give these investors some comfort to be enlightened that BP is not a Crypto.
Prehaps now you may see that there is another viewpoint and maybe now ' see what the problem is' ?
There are those investors in the recovery of BP who will benefit from the crash but there are also many investors from before March 2020 suffering massive losses.
Have a great day. MarkGo
