There are those investment opportunities where you can almost SMELL it. Does anyone remember the scene from 'The Big Short' where Ryan Gosling's character says: "What's that smell? Do you smell it? Money! I smell Money!"? Well, it was like that when I first heard about VLS, and started looking into it. I immediately noticed the unmistakable delicious minty crisp smell of m-o-n-e-y. Oh yes indeedy :-)

Yes, policy support is important - but that's pretty much been agreed and is fast coming in the US, UK and EU (and some other countries.)

Honestly haven't a clue! It could go back to 8p and then slowly start ticking up week on week....or it could shoot up to 20p and come crashing down to 10p...or the almost unthinkable could happen - massive sustained rises (this please!)
But none of these outcomes would hugely surprise me.

It'd interesting to know at what price Abramovitch bought his shares. If he had bought at the same point as me (around 5p) he'd have made - unless I'm miscalculating - in the region of 9 million Pounds over the last 3 trading days of last week! But the reality is he may have bought at an earlier and much higher price - in which case he could still be millions down. Yet he is unfazed. He patiently waits for the endgame when the heavens will open and rain gold. Maybe there's a lesson in there...

I'm not a Boris-hater or anything, but I voted for Hunt in the Tory leadership election. (Membership has kind of lapsed, but until relatively recently I was actually a paid-up member of the Tory Party :-P)
As for VLS, I got in at about 5p - so I was already about 3 grand in profit at the beginning of last week. Wednesday and Thursday were very gratifying, of course. But I'm a long term holder. Ups and downs along the way are inevitable.

The UK government is already full square behind VLS. It has given 'em millions worth of development aid, has fast-tracked planning permission, etc. They've been name-checked in numerous ministerial statements. And - let's be honest - individual minsters are probably privately invested too. (BTW I'm not one of those folks who gets hot-and-bothered about so-called "sleaze". Don't get jealous, join in and get a slice of the action too - is my motto!:-D)

I'm determined to hold all the way to the end of the line on this one. In 5 or 8 years time my 256,000 shares could, potentially, be HUGE :-)

What d'you guys reckon - are we going to see more dramatic upwards movement next week? Or is it going to level off a bit for for now? If so, at 12p...11p...10p...?

My feeling is, there are a lot of investors (including serious big-buck investors) who are holding back A. until construction begins at Immingham; B. until there is some sustained momentum. But when the cautious crew does arrive, it'll slowly but surely soar!

I pulled out of a lot of the "green" part of my portfolio to go in heavily on Velocys. But I have been in or am still considering: Orsted, AMTE Power, llika, Lucid, Bluebird, EQTEC. (There are numerous other opportunities too, no doubt, if one did extensive research into this sector.)

There is a huge wall of money coming towards all of the green sector. Big investment opportunities :-P

I've been in VLS for a little while now. I was tipped off about the opportunity by a smart-money contact quite a few weeks back and have built up a holding of over 256,000 shares - cost average 5p (or just a tad above after hoovering up a few thousand more at 12p yesterday.)
But for me this has always been a long term play. As for what is going to happen on Monday - who knows? More crazy rises? Flash crash down to 8p...? Nothing would surprise me. But at the end of the day, in a few years time from now, it will be a very big winner.

Good point MPO - I'm also buying through HL, so I would be part of the block they are holding in trust for customers. (However I think there is also a whole separate tranche of VLS shares owned by HL's investment fund, isn't there?)

There's quite a bit of smart money with us, I think.

BTW, I wonder if it's true that Abramovitch has a stake in VLS? And if so, I wonder whether this could be at all relevant for future expansion in Russia? That could be pretty huge, couldn't it?

Yep - they are precisely reference projects. But all the expansion potential (as far as I can see) is in selling technology to other parties.
