... well pleased with the recovery in DGO , bought in at 200 and thought oops , almost covered with a short. Cashed in half my holdings on close today as i did not like how the dow was looking and thought there might be a few scottish banks going cheap in the morning:)

...could not get all the details I wanted due to todays corporate action , what I would say is that at a 150p special divi payout it looks as if it is a no brainer if they come up with the goods. IG Markets are getting back to me by phone as they have the same problem in that they need to phone a friend , lol , however , the spread is wide and with 4 months in play prior to the expected divi payment , any gsl could be hit unless it was itself left wide. I do not see any reason why there would be any downward pressure if the deal has been and only upside. There would of course be a mass sell off as soon as the market opens after going ex div. I'll get back soon

L2 enables you to see what level people are buying and selling at in the cue and you can place your order directly at the price you are confortable with. You should have a look at the Digital Look Live Market platform under launch Market Live Terminal. It is free and a useful add on to existing tools. I find Digital Look very informative as a research tool too. Glad DGO picked up a little , bought in at 200 the other day.

The first thing you need to get is a good dealing account with an L2 platform , I will only recommend IG Markets. Until you have the tools , imo , you cannot day trade the swings efectively. I trade the index's , ie. FTSE 100 Cash and Wall Street Cash , when they both opened up last night they fell dramatically. I posted this on barclays at about 11.15pm last night. You have top be on top of things to profit. I played off some of the Australian and Asian financials during the night and day trading uk financials would be play of the day this morning. DGO was more of a short term recovery play and whist could be day traded , the swings you should be aiming for ia on the back of openings like todays in sectors most effected. gl and get those accounts opened up.

AAL and BARC are great stocks to trade , recovery is great if you get it slightly wrong , whatever side you are on , and both have underlying value so risk is minimal..

I have always wanted to do a spell in the USA , being a petrol head , a nationalist , into music and wanting to make a fast buck and all in that order , I thought I would be well suited. I have visited dozens of times , each time different. The one common dominator was that I just failed on the questions "are you an alien" or "have you been a terrorist or have any intention of being". I should have simply stated that I am an alien being that should be considered for any past , current and future terrorist acts and in the name of the almighty , as my mother never breast fed me I seek refuge.

DGO is worthy of a gain in SP. However , there is an election in the next 8 weeks , 4th November in USA for the next dude in control , neither of which were born in USA nor baptised in oil. So you have 2 guys , one white one black , neither born in america , both vowing to control the world under the american flag. In my opinion , it is going to be fun in stocks and basic principles should be forgotten.

Hi , I also live in france and use IG markets , search under ig markets uk , they are , imo , arguably the best online broker in the world.

Sterling's precipitous slide against the dollar has wiped out most of the benefits British Airways has seen from the lower oil price, the Daily Telegraph reported. I really see no good news supporting BA and despite recent hold recomendations from some brokers , will continue to short. I also opened up a short on stage coach and rolls royce as I feel that the strengthening dollar will similarly weaken both their earnings and both had recent rallys.

I have been in and out of these for a while. Yes there has been some growth in the SP during August after hitting lows so some profit taking will maybe continue and indeed will fall when fianancials fall out of favour , but , imo , worth putting a few away on the lows http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/69ac0300-79de-11dd-bb93-000077b07658.html
