this is a Stock Exchange rule. Sites like this then run the trades through a computer to try to determine if it is a buy or sell

based on the mid price at the time it was published.

This therefore is unreliable due to many factors and all the figures produced are often incorrect and should be ignored.

Basically if demand outstrips supply share prices rise and Vic versa.
