Peace deal broken down. Iran due to get messier and nastier. Oil prices high and now liklier to go higher and remain high for longer.

This may be a set of circumstances presented to the board of MATD that tempts them to look at a possible plan B.

Plan B?? Well it should be possible to borrow $40 million, get 10 wells drink and operating at levels of 150 bpd avg. Comfortably achieve a clear margin of at least $60 pb clear margin. Which if held for a year would mean an earning of $3.25 million per operating well with 100% retention of ownership. That is close to repayment within 18 months.

Probably not realistic, but a tempting thought.....

However, my communication regarding the possibility of having the AGM after May 7th so I could try and attend, resulted in an answer stating it was "most likely" to be in April and was hoping to be linked to some"news".

We then received an RNS on 18th Feb stating the revenues are withheld income had been paid in full and the contract sorted with PC. So that wasn't the "news" expected to trigger an AGM.

It was also stated they were discussing where to hold the AGM......!!??!!

Make of that as you will, but I sense the next RNS is going to be the big one with a possibility of bringing the AGM to London, meaning we could more easily attend.

Equally, nothing could have happened and it could have all gone flat....

I am a little surprised that the AGM will be in May due to the required 3 weeks notice period, having been advised it would most likely be in April.

To me, this can be due to one of three things:

1. The Farm Out company is Chinese, requiring Beijing to sign off before official signatures can be given.

2. The recent troubles in the Middle East has resulted in last minute interests entering the bid for the Farm Out deal with MATD, meaning a better deal for share holders and our future.

3. An outright bid for the block is being tabled and considered by the board.

Either way, a rerate event will come to pass and the news will be big, when it lands, IMO.

I also think it is entirely possible that MATD will drop together or quite closely the news that they have secured two Farm our deals.

One for Block XX, which is the live and pressing block to max production from. But also for Block VII for exploration and development.

That would be sensational - as well as a couple of Sunsteppe cherries on top for good measure....

Hamm, not sure about $20 million for 30% deal. Don't forget on top of that, they would ALSO have to fund the drilling. They may need 40% or even 50% to justify that investment. We will see.

AGM now effectively drifting into early May. If the AGM is in the UK, I can make it from May 7th. I do hope it is and I do hope I can attend it in person!

Unsure why Brent has come off a little today.

If Iran refuses to yield and Trump huts the bottoms, resulting in Iranian infrastructure being heavily taken down, resulting in Iran hitting Middle East oil refineries and infrastructure.....the price would be heading towards $130 to $150 pb in my expectation.

This seems a likely outcome to me as all rhetoric has been shown to be false hopes of any deal and the Iranians continue on their path of existential obliteration with their fanatical beliefs, actions and stared positions.

Totally correct Investor33. However in capitally intensive businesses, where the initial money invested is sizeable, there is a mechanism where you can go to court and get a dispensation from this rule and permission to start paying dividends.

Therefore, there is a legitimate manoeuvre to get around this issue, especially on the back of such a successful outlook for income and returns as an ongoing business in the medium to long term.

I believe, therefore, that there would be a major event at the time notice is given for the AGM.

I conclude that the announcement for the AGM and "news" is imminent as a result.

Lots has and is changing.

Oil in shortening supply and wealth Arab states being attacked.

Plus for MATD is the oil price rise. The alarmed panic should drive a good farm out deal for MATD.

My concerns are with Sunsteppe and whether the huge investments promised for renewables will be forthcoming from the Arab States with the escalation of war and the potential to divert funds for immediate needs closer to home.

Remembering the never ending time delays endured before securing the special license for block XX. Coupled with the need for the ministry to be consulted and agree to a farm out if the split is greater than 33%. Could these delays be down to the slow moving government machine taking their time to sign off on a deal that is already agreed to in principle?

I hope they get on and announce it all this week. I believe the deal is SO SO CLOSE.

I can't make an AGM until after May 7th, sadly. So I won't make it.

It would not surprise me of the AGM was held in London, allowing more of a meet and greet attendance with some solid news and a fram out partner also in attendance.

I truly do not know any details or facts. But if the AGM is "Likely to be in April" and a place to hold ot is being discussed, this allows me to believe we are there, bar the announcement itself.

All speculation, all in IMO only, but I truly believe we will know everything within the next days or couple to three weeks, maximum.

An AGM, with at least 3 weeks notice, to happen in April, means within the next 21 days maximum, something big should drop.

Unless all of the statements and intel gently sitting in plain sight are all red herrings, we are now on the cusp of great things, IMO.

Remortgage the house. Sell the children. Porn the wife. Let the cat starve. Refuse to fuel the car, let them all walk or cycle....

This is the time to put your money on the table, IMO....

The RNS seems a little lacklustre in the delivery by Meade and Poulden.

Generally in line but without banging the drum about anything with amazement or excitement.

The can will be kicked down the path with this and bump along getting a few more dents in it, IMO.
