The most important evidence of incompetence and poor decision makings is the company's highly unstable position on the market. A sharp rise and an equally sharp drop in its capitalization the main reason why investors distrust of the company. The market today perceives the company as a small ship sailing to a treasure island. But MM does not really believe that this ship will reach his goal. Precisely because the captain and his team do not follow that schedule and route about which they are informing and then suddenly changing for very unconvincing reasons. Would the team clearly followed to its promises, and did not change them so often then capitalisation of the company today could be two to three times higher. And most importantly, there were not those sharp fluctuations in stock prices, which only unnerve LTHs and faith of potential investors in company's eventual success. I personaly convinced in such succes but only if Mike and his BOD true proffecionals and that is what they have to demonstrate and prove this year.

Yes, you are right HH. Time flies so fast that seems it was not even in 2017, but yesterday. Yes, a lot of time has been lost and I never thought that Matad till now would be able to drill two wells only and both of them would be duster. That is why I wrote that a self-respecting CEO must fulfil promises without excuses. Nevertheless, I continue to remain confident in success. Because along with the mistakes that Mike and his team certainly made (I don’t know because of their own fault or because of the specific working conditions in Mongolia, including interaction with government agencies), they still were able to be fully funded for the planned 4 important drilling programs. And one of which at least should certainly lead to success. Possibly I am naive, but I can’t even imagine that Mike and his team would be so unprofessional or so unfortunate as not to find oil in a country that is surrounded by oil-richest countries and where it is already discovered and not once.

P_I, as you may know SP of PM reached last year 39p being in much less attractive position than it is today. Therefore, there is no any reason to think that within 1-2 months time the price will not reach, if not the previous level (since there was a placing), then 10-15p for sure.

what a crazy place this AIM is. How can someone sell a million shares today for 45K if within just one or two months it can be sold at double price and yet after another 2-3 months quite possibly for a million.
The only justification for this may be the transfer of shares to the ISA account. Perhaps that is why the price does not fall, but grows. Or, someone smart quickly redeems these shares at such a cheapest price.

I agree with you, n1shares and other optimists. But only if there is again something "electrical or lightning" will not happen. Such a SP fall shouldn't even take place would Mike be a bit more flexible and tell during the presentation that drilling may start in July in case of signing of the two rig contracts (of which in the middle of March he could know well). Therefore I think the SP fall was due to the not quite skilful submission of very important information at the presentation. As a result the market took the RNS only in terms of the delay Heron drilling and without the advantages of 2 rig contracts which allow for simultaneous drilling of prospects and immediate appraisal in the event of a discovery and which is great.
Therefore, I am also sure that the level of the previous SP will quickly restored and begin to grow steadily.

So, another delay with another excuse in which I was sure. Will be it last one this year? I am in doubt. However here is at least some clarity in what is exactly has sheduled to do. Lets hope there is nothing that could interrupt the execution of all that are planned.

gatto, instead of advising me what to do wouldn't be better to read my posts more carefully and understand the simple point I made? And which by the way was very clear mentioned by Sundaysun? If you didn't get it I can repeat: what been this BOD doing since Nov 2018 if till now don't have a rig contract. And why they are telling us till the in the end of June if they could already start drilling Heron? Are you so easy forgotten how many time Mike has very enthusiastically make a lot of promises during presentations but failed to deliver? If, so I can remind you again - change of drilling locations, 2 large dilutions, visa issues, late permits, late spud dates, loss of two drills last year etc.
This is why I see no reason to highly them or even believe that they will keep promises this time. And therefore decided express them through this board my demand to be more responsible in what they are saying and doing. And what is wrong with that? Or we all have to just sit here as idiots and wait for their next failure?

I always prefer to be realist, gatto and not to take my wishes as a realinty like you and some others do. Look at the facts and situation on the market in which Matad are today and ask yourself are Mike and his BOD has delivered their promises since his arrival or not? The obvious answer is Not. Therefore it is my right as long term investor to ask what is going on and when they will start fulfil their promises. And I have address last posts not to you, so I don't care less what you are thinking.

IGEEK, isn't it fact that last year this BOD wasn't prepared for 4 well drilling program despite of promises via RNS?
Or isn't it fact that even this year they are not prepared for drilling despite the drilling season is started already?

And what I am personally talking about not a delay but the unsatisfactory work that this BOD does. I really fed up by excuses so often coming from our CEO and I don't want to hear them again. Because as was George Washington said: “Ninety-nine percent of the failures come from people who have the habit of making excuses".

So, no more excuses Mr Mike Buck from you and your team. We need just the results, timely and preferably positive.

Exactly, Sundaysun. I don't remember who did write here quite rightly that this BOD are doing presentations, raising money from investors, paying himself big salaries, drill dusters and repeat. I really don't want to be negative towards this management or to upset fellow Matadors here. But would like let this BOD to know (I am sure they are reading our posts) what some of us thinking about their job. They all and not just Mike must start to show what they are exactly doing in Mongolia and proof if they are really worthy managers who want to create a first-class oil and gas company.

Yes, it is odd. And Mr P. you are quite right too. Instead of doing solid business this BOD has turned it more and more into some kind of show. And that is what I dislike most. And I do not understand what this management is doing in their work places if didn't able even to negotiated and sign a drilling contract for 2 well in Block XX since last year?

Yes, we have to be patient. But I don’t quite understand why as the old management of this company, so now Mike and his team always lag behind, instead of being ahead of the events. After all, the company planned to drill 2 wells in block 20 last year. And if this is the case, then shouldn’t this been to speed up all the procedures for commencing drilling operations of this year? Therefore, in this case, the point is not at all that we are impatient. Because here we are not talking about any specific deadlines, but about the uncertainty in which for some reason we all have been constantly held during last year and now. Instead of following a previously thought-out and well-respected plan of action, including the conclusion of a contract with predetermined deadlines. Come on Mike its time for you and your team to work at much higher professional level and on the basis of a much clearer and exact plan.

I also recently hoped for such a rise before the news. But it seems that now it can happen after the appearance of a particular positive news from the company. Or a little earlier if such news leaked to the market quicker than the company could announce it.

To be honest I also not quite understand what is the reason of such a delay in signing the drilling contracts. Especially if the rigs are already in Mongolia. And why the spud date could possibly last till the middle of June when we are actually in the drilling season already? I hope that contract news will appear within next couple of weeks and dispel all doubts and gossips.

My congratulations, Terryali! You are winner of todays' bet. However I am sure SP uptrend already started and will continue with some down fluctuation as today. Now we have time to think what kind of tactic to chose to maximise our gain in this long lasting and complicated game with our unpredictable Petro Matad. Which can in the blink of an eye turn from violent bull into ferocious bear. Let's hope that this time will be no such drastic SP changes as last year, but we must be ready for such situation too.
