Just as a matter of interest, how stressed/relaxed did people feel about it? I know I was glad that a really technical RNS didn’t land about anything that I hold and definitely prefer the presentation of sp info here to other sites.

Credit is all Tetrolite's Southernhay but I do think we've missed a trick here. I quite understand the need to avoid self congratulatory RNS's that lack substance but these results sound significant.

Yes, probably true about the timing. It's just very good PR and seems to confirm the huge potential that we're all waiting to see translated into contracts.

So how long have we known about the original contract prices increasing if fuel cell companies are involved? It actually sounds a pretty fundamental part of the chlor-alkali set up yet this was referred to as a low hanging fruit for years.

Is that a particularly poor deal gone through at 8.08 or two unrelated trades?

I don't think we've seen this put as strongly before. One of the immediate opportunities that presents itself is to utilise AFC Energy's clean running fuel cell as an alternative to back-up power from diesel generation. The generation of power from diesel generation has issues associated with noise and cleanliness of generation as well as selling on this power at many multiples of the cost of production. Information from UK Government reports indicate that diesel particulate pollution may be a contributory factor in the deaths of 29,000 Britons a year. Despite these drawbacks, the global diesel generator market is forecast to be worth around �17 billion by 2020 and is growing at 4.5% per annum according to research from Global Data. We therefore believe that this is a prime opportunity for AFC Energy's technology in offering a cleaner, quieter, and more economical solution to diesel power generation around the globe.

Shouldn't cause any adverse movement (crosses fingers). I imagine the market will look at a smaller loss and the cash in bank and reckon that will get us to commercialisation later this year. I see we are now fashionably transitioning rather than approaching commercialisation at an accelerated pace.

Anyone any idea what the markets for this would be? It would be good to get the news that we�ve finished developing one type of fuel cell before we embark on another!

Arminius - I saw this rise yesterday and clocked the RNS this morning so I followed them up. I'm not sure whether you're aware of AFC and UCG but they've been connected with this form of energy development for a while now. Linc are part owners and Adam Bond is on the AFC board. The syn gas is hydrogen rich and once cleaned up can be put through fuel cells to generate electricity producing a very green outcome. UCG production for AFC is a little way off as AFC aim to commercialise first through Chlor Alkali hydrogen but once UCG has got going replacing gas turbines with AFC's fuel cells will be viable. If there is a Linc farm-in expect to hear more about AFC in the future.
