Alfa - what makes you suspect the activity is coming from there?

This blurb was at the bottom today and on the January RNS. It's different to the commercial update from November last year and uses the present tense rather than the future tense.

'AFC Energy plc is commercialising a scalable alkaline fuel cell system, to provide clean electricity for on and off grid applications. The technology, pioneered over the past ten years in the UK, is in the process of being deployed in industrial gas plants for grid generation, as an alternative to diesel generators for localised power, in energy storage systems and as the power source for local electricity needs.'

We need to see the end of this seller. They might be shifting higher volumes today in anticipation of raised volumes.

AB did sound more cautious yet at the same time the commercialisation process sounds very close now. This is clearly in part AFC approaching potential customers but also as in the charger case, customers approaching them.

It would be fascinating to know the full range of products they feel their fuel cell has an application for and how they plan to prioritise these. They always did give the impression that they'd have to be selective to start with once the development phase was over.

For me the RNS is very encouraging suggesting that there's lots going on and that the sp direction just isn't reflecting this.

Alfa - I'm in both AFC and BMN. The original AFC plan was stationary fuel cells used with hydrogen from the chlor-alkali industry that was effectively a waste product. This has proved far harder to break into than they had originally believed.
Quite where the hydrogen for these new chargers comes from really isn't clear.

Perhaps they see this as the new low hanging fruit ianous now that we've realised that the old low hanging fruit isn't that low!

And another question - is this in any way connected with the 'hydrogen battery' that they've referred to in the past?

Lack of news creates low volume so a big sell takes an age to shift. Add in PI disenchantment and further sales and it just keeps going until we get a signal something has happened. Not sure what signal our big buyer has seen!

It feels like a huge overhang being chipped away at when big buys don't result in a sp rise. Distressed sellers have been discussed before.

I think we need both a holdings RNS to signal the end of the seller and company news to shift this on. Alternatively, one huge sell trade sometimes acts as a signal.

Someone looks to be accumulating around 6p. The AT trades around 9.30/9.31 sum to 100k. Over 1M bought today and no real boost to the sp.

I'm holding both as well. I've found that the rise in one has dulled the pain of the other.

Hopefully when AFC have a final product they'll start to attract the attention BMN are now getting.

I've used them for bed & Isa's. Very easy to do online. Trades all went through very close to one another at the sell price so I lost little in the way of shares. I don't recall there being much in the way of a fee either.

I'm still in AFC but if it wasn't for BMN I'd be feeling pretty desperate about the lack of news here. I think they've both got a role to play in the zero emissions/renewable energy markets with possibly a bit of overlap. The situation was pretty grim for BMN shareholders back in 2016 but many of those who held then also bought up large quantities and are sitting on huge paper profits now.

This could also happen here but we just need that one major piece of evidence to know that we're off north. I'm inclined to get some cash together and hold for now until we get significant confirmation.
