Holidaymakers will be given free Covid tests to take abroad to save them getting a pre-return test in a foreign country, according to reports.

Whitehall sources say that travellers will be offered lateral flow tests to pack in their suitcase.

The fast turnaround tests would be made available to travellers free of charge to save the hassle and expense of getting a test in a foreign country, it is claimed.

These plans are expected to be unveiled on Friday.

A source reportedly told the Daily Mail that health officials are now satisfied the fast tests would be sufficient.

Bigger picture.. our tests will provide the business with a revenue stream to develop their real value IP.

As long as we are included within the contracts then everything is lined up for developing the business long term.

Focus so far has been Europe and worldwide sales, getting UK government revenue will be cherry on top.

Personally I think the media has done a terrible job, all to quick to talk about summer holidays and the economic boom of the spring. Not rocket science to consider the impact of people's actions, the pictures on TV from Soho showing groups of people drinking in the streets. Shocking and for all the people that have lost family and jobs over the past year it's a kick in the teeth to see this on TV.

Sad to see numbers increasing in the UK but there was never a chance that Covid just disappears in the UK and testing is key to moving the economy forward. Media has presented too much of a positive story over the past few days.

Coronavirus cases are beginning to rise again in almost half of England's 315 local authority areas, figures show.

The figures, for the seven days to 22 April, are based on the number of people who have tested positive for COVID-19 in either a lab-reported or rapid lateral flow test, by specimen date.

The rate is expressed as the number of new cases per 100,000 people.

Some 149 (47%) have seen an increase the in rate or people infected, 150 (48%) have seen a fall and 16 are unchanged.

Selby, in North Yorkshire, has the highest rate in the country after infections more than doubled.

I notice that Debt Camel isn't on their case about putting one part of their business into administration due to claims. To me what they are doing is worse because they have highly profitable parts of the business and they are selecting to close the ones that are leaking money due to claims.

I think I prefer their wording and say if the scheme fails then customers get nothing.
