RE: Re Sloppy Journalism?26 Apr 2019 16:35
Barny, In fairness, so do most of the serious financial journalists.
As a case in point G A Chester wrote on 23/04:- "Meanwhile, I wasn’t impressed by the flow news coming from the EWT programme for the Kimmeridge level. Or by a surprise announcement in February that it had been shut-in for a long-term pressure build-up test. Comparable geological formations have typically displayed extremely steep decline rates", so the jury’s still very much out on the Kimmeridge."
The geology of HH is what the geology is and this particular geological formation is, as G A Chester stated prone to steep decline rates.
I note that DHC never mentions this in his ramps, as it must surely call for a note of caution as this is where the BOPD numbers are majorly[?] going to come from in all his forecasts.
Perhaps he will answer this but I doubt it.
The market waits to see the Kimmeridge test results and should the decline rates be well below what the geologists think they will be then the SP will take off like a rocket [Solid fuel propelled!].
But should they be what the geologists expect, then we are left with the steady production rate of 220 BOPD from the portland, nice but not earth shattering and unlikely to make the valuation of UKOG much above, and, probably less than it is now.
Over to you DHC
