The Tesla court case is a distraction. CAP-XX are about to enter a high growth phase over the next few years and I think this article offers hope for stocks such as CPX. The darkest hour is the one before dawn and all that.

As you say, even if CAP-XX are liable their revenues have only been a few million Aussie dollars for the past 10 years. With a reasonable royalty rate of 5% then it's hardly a huge amount that they would 'owe' Tesla. Nor would it be going forward.

Also regards the trucks, this is a red herring. CAP-XX patents expired several years ago so there's nothing stopping Tesla using these licenses now anyway. However I personally don't believe there's any CAP-XX tech in these trucks.

The legal fees are only around a few hundred thousand per year, hardly heavyweight. So nothing to worry about in my opinion.

Also if a Gamestop type ramp occured no funds would go to CAP-XX, but to shareholders who cash out at elevated share price. Bring it on I say. Over to you Redditors....

This feels a bit like a tight VAR decision. We know he (CAP-XX) is not offside, we're just waiting on tenterhooks for the VAR to confirm it!

The thing is, if CAP-XX are infringing Tesla/Maxwell's products, then you would assume all other supercap manufacturers are also infringing. Why have Tesla only just 'realised' their own products are being infringed. It looks like a very high stakes game of chicken to me. This won't do the share price much good in the short term unfortunately.
