RE: Calculation19 May 2025 13:44
@caterham the VSA valuation was calculated before the SOC, under the assumption of a lower amount. The price of gold was also lower, so we are going to see an updated valuation, probably 50-60p or higher.
The truth is that, if we set aside a conservative 5p for the west african assets, this is a pure arbitration play. The GoI can't play games any more as they are bound to the timing set by the tribunal. We are now a few well defined steps before a ruling and timing will not be stretched out. No matter how long it takes, Panthera is fully funded and therefore there won't be any dilution. I think Mark needs to remind this in future interviews.
We are priced at just 3% of the claim amount, this is the reality. Does anyone believe PAT only has such a low probability of success, given that they have the best legal team money can buy and that someone else is picking up the tab in the hope of getting a share of the proceeds in 2-3 years?
I don't know where the SP will be tomorrow or next week but it is a given that it will be closer to 20% of the claim in the weeks preceding the ruling than the current 3%. The only other possibility is an out of court settlement, which is unlikely to be lower than 400-500 million dollars. Do the math..
