Yeah your right but not in the sense you mean it. Its called a realignment of hours so basically we have agreed to increase productivity at nil cost this includes peak volume months. Its a win win.

Well, if we have taken out 120,000 each week from last year due to the shorter working week then productivity has to have improved. Likewise when it drops to 35 hours you will get another natural productivity improvement your argument does not stack up.

Consolidating delivery centres and selling off assets: They are doing this already
Limiting payrises: Not a hope in hell if we are working harder which we are we want a bloody big slice of the cake and rightly so.

Reducing letters to a 5 day week: Why would you restrict your ability to take on the competition and worst still open the door to the competition by reducing the amount of days you deliver an absolutely ridiculous idea which if they ever tried would lead to a dispute

@Red Here is my informed opinion. Productivity improvements they will be natural occurrences due to the reduction in the working week. So since October of last year we went from 39 hours to 38 hours. therefore we are doing the workload with around 130,000 hours a day less. That means that all of us are working harder. Now base that on a reduction to 35 hours and you have an immense productivity improvement from the work force. I specifically mentioned the reduction in the working week to Nuri in a previous post and thought he might pick up on that but clearly not. I can only lead a horse to water I am afraid.

@Nuri The reason you are not getting a pay rise is because your employer will not give you one, how you can blame a Union for that is ridiculous. Have you thought about Industrial Action collective action? You see my union have agreed in the last year a 7% pay rise and a reduction in the working week from 39 hours to 35 hours in the next couple of years. Add to that a much improved Pension scheme. That is the power of a union

If it wasn't for the CWU this industry would be on a greater downward curve I wouldnt expect you to understand why or even begin to explain to you why. @Arse Incorrect we have an agreement if he works to that then fine if not then, well, its here we go again. Its as simple as that. Because RM have an idea doesn't mean we have to agree with it. Had we gone with their last idea it would have been an absolute disaster for the company. Sometimes the CWU have to lead them in the right direction they are not very good ideas you see. @Hereshopin What work did we already agree to do that we are not doing?
