c264, actually Aston Martin where ahead of target when it came to reduce the amount of stock they had if you listened to the Q3 call with Stroll and Tobias in october, DBX sales demand has been strong in China, I don’t think Mercedes would get involved with a sinking ship as you described, you only apear on this chat when the stock is down. Proper de-ramping as you hope to scare investors away with your negativity in the hope you buy more shares at a cheaper price.
I agree there is nothing more beautiful than the powerful raw of a V12 engine but the reality is that we are moving to the electric era and it’s important that AM has secured this partnership with Mercedes Benz which will give it access to the latest electric/hybrid motors and infotainment. That will then give Aston the resources to focus on the rest of the car as Moers said. From an investor prospective I would have been reluctantant to put my hard earned cash in here had Aston stuck away with normal combustion engines or had developed electrical motors as the amount money on r&d for that is enormous and that’s were the benefit of having Mercedes comes in.
2 reasons in my view, there was profit taking when this hit above £20, remember it went from £13 to £20 in just a couple of weeks. Also the profit taking was increased because of the impending lockdown news so many people get nervous and sold. The sp will be above £20 shortly again and that will be very cheap come the end of this year.
Totally agree JonTaylor. With this partnership with MB it will have access to it’s electric car technology that is already developed and will save them a lot of money from R&D. This year is going massive for Aston in my opinion, F1 is really going to drive brand awareness. Moers wants to lauch 10 derivatives of already existing models but with hybrid and electrification, so beautiful premium sports cars with the latest technology and yes the Market Cap of this stock is very small, I mean a direct competitor like Ferrari is well over 30 billion, I am sure Aston will be closing that gap with all the great management and input from MB that are now onboard which is great for us investors.
In my humble opinion the first thing AML should focus on is bringing its first electric car to the market. An electric DBX would do a treat. They can now access this technology via Mercedes so it will keep the costs down and speed up the process. Of course as Tobias Moers said it will have to look, feel and drive like an Aston just electric.
This stock will be in the £35-£40 this year, short term profit takers will do their best to ramp and deramp when it’s suitable for them. I for one have invested a lot and I am not worried about short term fluctuations, if anything a small dip makes these golden tickets cheaper.
