HYDROGEN REALLY PICKING UP THE PACE

In February, Daimler Truck AG and Linde Engineering opened a new public sLH₂ refueling station in Wörth am Rhein, Germany. This groundbreaking project is setting a new benchmark in terms of energy efficiency and performance.

In a recent interview with the Hydrogen Council, Roland Dold, Head of Advanced Engineering Mercedes-Benz Trucks, and Markus Bachmeier, Director Markets & Customer Development, Linde Hydrogen FuelTech, talk about the joint development process and the key development targets such as operational costs.

BP and Aberdeen City Council have taken final investment decision (FID) to build a green hydrogen hub which is planned to start production in 2026.

The oil and gas major established a joint venture with the local council – bp Aberdeen Hydrogen Energy – to build the 300-tonne per year hydrogen hub to fuel vehicles operating in the city.

Expected to feature a hydrogen production, storage and distribution facility, a new solar farm will be installed to power the estimated 1.63MW of electrolysis for hydrogen production.

“The decision to divest our LNG heat exchanger technology and equipment business reflects Air Products’ continued focus on its two-pillar strategy -- to grow our core industrial gas business and related technology and equipment, and to be a first-mover delivering clean hydrogen at scale to decarbonize industrial and heavy-duty transportation sectors,” said Air Products’ Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Seifi Ghasemi. “The LNG business is a great business and at its strongest point in its decades-long history thanks to the outstanding work of our people, and they will be in good hands to advance as part of Honeywell’s related portfolio of technologies.”

Honeywell has agreed to acquire Air Products’ liquefied natural gas (LNG) process technology and equipment business for $1.81 billion in an all-cash transaction. Air Products continues to focus on its two-pillar strategy to grow and invest in its industrial gas business and drive the energy transition through clean hydrogen at scale.

* Acquisition will build on Honeywell’s energy transition capabilities by creating an end-to-end offering for customers worldwide 

* The combination will create new opportunities for diversified growth and innovation in aftermarket services and software  

* Transaction is expected to be immediately accretive to Honeywell’s sales growth and segment margin while also accretive to adjusted EPS in the first full year of ownership

* Air Products to continue its focus on its industrial gas business and related technology and equipment and driving the energy transition through Clean Hydrogen at SCALE 

Ursula von der Leyen has been re-elected European Commission president, with her manifesto and today’s speech to the European Parliament vowing to continue many of her policies around the energy transition, including the deployment of clean hydrogen.

“We will stay the course on our new growth strategy and the goals we set for 2030 and 2050,” she said. “Our focus now will be on implementation and investment to make it happen on the ground.

“This is why I will put forward a new Clean Industrial Deal in the first 100 days. It will channel investment in infrastructure and industry, in particular for energy-intensive sectors. This will help create lead markets in everything from clean steel to clean tech and it will speed up planning, tendering, and permitting.”

@troublesome, unfortunately Labour do have a plan, the question is Will they be able to raise the funds of circs £7Billions that they said they will raise .

Watching the execution of the plan will be interesting & no doubt the next 6 months will be telling, I reckon they have done a lot more research into this than they are given credit for.

@ London, there are rules & regulations, she would not be allowed to buy any at this point in time but she isn’t & she hasn’t, she has transferred them into a different account so perfectly acceptable but what a Fantastic Move ……
