"Isgur acknowledged the current complex and uncertain state of the exhibition industry but said he wants a restructuring plan that as much as possible “gets this right…gets the debt levels right, the footprint of locations right. To put the company on a path to success. We don’t want to take half measure here.”
So the title makes it look like the judge wants to speed up the closures of sites, but he is quoted here as saying they dont want to take half measures and they want to get it right. Surely rushing the process wont lead to the best outcome? Take your time Cine, let box office speak for itself.
"Sussman, looking to set the scene for the judge, touted box office receipts for Avatar: The Way of Water and said the James Cameron blockbuster, along with titles like Top Gun: Maverick and Spider-Man: No Way Home, “demonstrates one of the key hypotheses of the debtor’s management team” — that blockbusters “will continue to generate high revenue and attendance for theaters. We just need more of them.”
Looks like they continue to fight the case for blockbusters being able to generate enough revenue to survive aslong as there are enough of them. It's going to be hard for the judge not to notice with Avatar soon to reach $2bn global box office figures. Surely it will have brought Cineworld back into positive cashflow at some point, in which case, will the lenders be able to just legally steal the whole business from right under our noses? Or will it be so obvious Cine should continue as a going concern in one piece?
I think iv heard enough of Antlev now, in the bin you go.
They have used US only number but claimed it to be the whole chain only having 478 cinemas.

Think the article is a little off, swear Cine has more sites than 478. Was somewhere in the 700's?
Id be surprised if there are more than a handful of people here who have a clue wtf you are going on about. Why bother?
You make it sound like things are set in stone.. why dont you just wait to see official news? You clearly cant make much sense out of the court dockets. You flip flop on what they are doing every day and when they come out with an RNS that rubbishes your last theory about takeover panel you make up some new mumbo jumbo.. are you here to confuse people? Who sent you?
You dont half talk a lot of mumbo jumbo Elvis, fairplay.
Should join us rather than continue to fund that scammer Adam Aron
Wolf, it was the Canadian subsidiary that was set up just for this deal. But because it had no assets the liability apparently fell on the plc.
Kind of seems like MoOky has given up on preserving any equity for shareholders. The Conflicted statements about the group to emerge in tact from Chapter 11.. but also massive dilution likely.. but also not subject to the takeover code because will split the business.. it kind of seems like we are being led up the garden path while 'they' commit daylight robbery. If Cineworld is raking in enough to service debts by the end of Chapter 11 proceedings.. at which point does this whole thing just become an actual robbery?
Times like these are when real wealth is created, if getting rich was easy, everyone would be doing it :) OH, thats right, they are at the expense of PI's.
Ted they also said Cineworld wouldnt be split for parts.. they are trying to leave confusion in their path.. why is the question?
Send Cineplex a Trojan horse filled with Cineworld shareholders/LSE posters.. then more chance of it farting 3 times in quick succession.
I still think we need to get this story to a journalist to get it known. Anyone know a journo willing to dive deeper into this Conwoman?
Elvis, again.. respectfully, the judge was smoking crack.
Elvis, im still convinced the Judge was smoking something when she awarded Cineplex lost synergies they never would have benefitted from. The fact its ludicrous, along with the family ties between Judge Barbera Conwoman & Cineplex. Along with a perfectly timed big short position by a Canadian firm just down the road from Judgy.. Walks and talks like Fraud.
They will call it the Cineworld Switcheroo
