another week of failure for the bod.

i’m sure i’m like a lot of people who have been here for a while in that our losses are so large that we hold in the vain hope that someone can turn this tanker before it glides ashore.

i believed the rns’s of the days of bbg as they are supposed to be fact based and i bought in on that basis. frankly i feel conned.

since those giddy days the bod’s astoundingly poor performance hasn’t improved irrespective of who (or who isn’t) at the helm.

the speculation, name calling, misdirection and dare i say lies that litter this forum are the work of those who have a vested interest to ramp and those who are probably as ****ed off as i am with how the company has been managed. their poor management has allowed the assets to lay dormant and their worth to go unrecognised in the mcap - the wider market doesn’t believe ufo can pull it off and based on the evidence why would it?

personally, i think there is a reason for this and i also think there will be another placing to decimate the sp further. that then leaves it ready for an asset only sale leaving those of us who have been here a long time carrying the can.

i kind of think that chris2 may be right even though the (potential) asset holding suggested otherwise.

i have zero faith that this will come good any more but am still prepared to lose the lot by holding. sometimes it’s good to be wrong.

Appreciate what you say LHC but a buy back only translates if a company is paying dividends or if the buy back results in an uptick in the SP. Hopefully in time we see both but until then my shares are worth whatever the MM’s will pay me for them irrespective of how much liquidity there is.

The OP’s question was what opinions do people have as to why MTL appears to be performing below other gold producers hence my comments although I do agree with you that for whatever reason the potential of MTL is going un-noticed. Particularly given the cash generation and the future faith in buying back at all.

At present there doesn’t seem to be enough demand to drive the SP to anywhere near what I believe it should. Or perhaps there simply aren’t enough free shares in circulation or on the books of the MMs so they keep sliding the price back down on small sells to make it seem unattractive and initiate a tree shake. Would appreciate your thoughts as maybe I’m looking at it wrong.

My take is because DB has ruled out any dividend payments at the moment. Couple that with the limited mine life (3-4 years at present) and what’s the point of high free cash generation if investors will never see it.

If within the next 24 months a few detailed RNS’s set out how the company will continue its phenomenal performance with new acquisition’s and the costs associated this should fly. If an announcement of dividends is made around the same time then expect extra jam.

Note my (personal) opinion of BUY as I am comfortable that all of this will happen and as such I myself will continue to hold and buy. DB appears focussed on growing the business into something 10x’s the size it is now and if he does pull it off then I get to retire early.

Finally we get to see MTL at somewhere close to last quarters true value. Can’t wait to see us at the middle of Q4.

If DB turns this into what he hopes then I finally get to retire - all on the back of his stellar leadership.

I did research the history, the region, the assets, the RNS etc etc before pumping in my hard earned.

The MM’s have been able to drag this and make money all the way down due to the BOD’s lack of clarity and action. A company with the asset portfolio of UFO could have bucked the trend (somewhat) by attracting new investors - explorer to miner wasn’t it, shovel ready. Now possible JV, maybe, sometime, perhaps….. why would anyone possibly want to risk it based on the BODs track record.

I will be a happy person if the hype and positivity on the BB is correct - as will most of the disgruntled PIs here sat underwater. I have plenty of hope but trust? Nah.

i will continue to hold as my paper losses are too large to make this worthwhile bailing on - i’ve already written my total investment off in my head. this is not patience but a faint hope that someone paid by this ****show will do something to benefit the lth’s. not telling the truth and/or sticking to timelines has killed the sp. and my trust and faith is now zero.

Does anyone know if the mining permission is a one shot application. What I mean is are further questions or points of clarification asked or is it simply passed or refused? I ask to gauge in my own mind if the BOD could be delaying the application with slow responses.

Max finally joins C2 in the green bin. Must be paid to post surely - to me everything that has/hasn’t happen lately looks like a move towards a cheap sell off or take over by major shareholders. To keep spinning irrelevant information (Max) is just distasteful and insulting to those who have actually pumped money in all the way down.

Foolishly I took RNS’s as a faithful statement (how naive of me) and now feel that the SP has been so expertly manipulated down ready for the major shareholders to capitalise on the assets at the expense of PIs.

This BOD have managed to turn a potentially lucrative bag of assets into nothing more than a means of lining their own pockets. This is the only thing they have done right IMO.

I (and likely many other LTHs) have lost their shirt through poor Management and no doubt the buttons that remain in play will be sold for a fraction of their true worth.

Such a shame but I blame no one for my own actions/stupidity.

Despite how much I’ve pumped into this dog I wish it would just keel over and die. The potential is huge but those at the helm seem determined to drag it down.

Have averaged down over the past 9 months and each time I miss the bottom and the continued slide bites me in the nether regions.

Think I’m like most LTHs on here and am a little confused that even positive news seems to prompt a little jump followed by a bigger slide. I reckon if UFO announced that they had found an oil field of 500 billion barrels this would still fall away. What the F is needed as the boxes left unticked are pretty much formalities aren’t they? Final costing aside of course.

What don’t we know because everything we do know should see this at 1p already!

I’m fortunate in having some spare funds sat in my share account which I had intended to put into UFO to catch the rise but frankly I’ve put so much in already that I’m loathed to risk more. If there is another dilution needed can’t they offer preferential shares to existing holders? At least we get the choice to f&ck ourselves or not.

Personally I think the odds of UFO actually mining in the future are greater than 20% or I wouldn’t be holding. As such all of the TA, FA & BS have little validity to me.

Or they get mining and we achieve fair value.

I’d agree with that but the markets are more fickle that my ex wife.

I’d rather they had waited until the 4th when they had found seams to extend the LOM and buttoned down the interest rate :-)
Not sure how the markets will reposed to these and the other underlying factors in the RNS. The day will show us I guess.

There’s an awful lot of (potential) money at stake here and everyone is manoeuvring for as big a slice of the pie as possible. Human nature human greed.

I will go with 4th May for the 1/4ly results.
Whatever day, they should give a lift to the SP IMO.
