I guess the action by the Italian government shows that they don't want any more cases.

Spiking the price can take out loads of stop losses too which benefits some........

On the plus side I see the Chancellor has announced money for retail stores. Up to £9k each apparently.

It is night so the solar at 0.0% is understandable - will have another look tomorrow in the day to see how much it is making.

My last comment was a bit tongue-in-cheek but it has logic - why pay a similar amount and put it all out into the public domain when you could wrap it all up in a purchase.

Okay, in this case there are national government politics involved, but I'm sure a private company in their position would seriously consider it.

Italy could have settled with Rockhopper from day one.

It's an interesting one though as there are many variables: Likelihood of Rockhopper win, Amount of any award, Visibility of payment to others, how best to dissuade other companies etc. etc.

I reckon the Italian government's best option may be to buy Rockhopper before the result.

Remember thought that Rockhopper still have a Premier Oil Carry-related CGT liability owed to FIG of I think circa £60 million. Until that is paid Rockhopper can't buy-back shares or dividend.

Having said that, the Navitas deal (or similar) will mean that the original Carry is irrecoverable so it should nullify the CGT owed and also the associated obligations.

We definitely need FIG confirmation on the above before any cash is 'free'.

Each SHOE shop works out to be around 110,000 shares - or about £60k at current prices.

That isn't cheap, but those same shares were earning around £20k per year not so long ago!

I reckon this is a great pension-type investment if you believe in the company long-term.

CFDs have to be funded and the provider I guess agrees a maximum time length to the trade. Normally they can be rolled-over and extended too can't they. 2029 doesn't seem strange to me - it's a bit arbitrary though.

I am talking about maximising the attractiveness of Sea Lion - not tax accounting - lol.

If FIG don't make this attractive, then it will never happen!

Perhaps I should change that then to

"No tax until Capex is recovered".

Well, can we all contact the FIG and get them to wake-up?!?

FIG have to realise that if they don't make the Sea Lion Development very attractive NOW - then it will never be developed.

The old 40% Carry and Standby Loan is much more preferable too, because it is defined and can't lead to an open-ended finance obligation unlike the recent Navitas deal.

The new Harbour Energy may prefer to have 60% with the old deal rather than 40% with the new Navitas deal. Who knows - we will find out.

I think the recent Premier prospectus and presentation are all talking about the existing 60%:40% though. The old Premier without funding probably needed another partner like Navitas, but do the new company?
