MM-
#AVCT acquires Coris Bioconcept for £7.4m cash, bringing in a proprietary range of lateral flow tests, as well as manufacturing capacity.
I suspect this boosts @AvactaDx's 2024 revenue to £30m+, and will drive up the gross margin of the division.
It is now a vertically integrated player, with a key USP of being able to develop and then directly market new (and retrofit existing) products that are powered by Affimers.
A serious entity (almost 150 FTEs) that could command a serious valuation as a standalone business.
With cash of £39m at end March '22 and a Group cash burn rate of ~£18m pa (less positive cash flows to come from the DX Dix going forward), I estimate @avacta's cash runway is reduced to mid summer next year. So no concern on that front. In any event, I'm expecting a major licensing deal for preCISION in the coming months.
Overall, it looks a decent strategic move by AVCT. I would like to see @AvactaDx consolidated now, healthy positive cash flows proved, and then spun off / sold to PE - with cash proceeds used to fund the Golden Goose that is preCISION.
