It was a good week. Some decent news about podcasts in the media. SP held up and rose even on some big sells

Buying ? Will they sell in 20 days time? Good for them, they could make a decent profit short term.

Boom have been very active talking to lots of people (big people). They have shown they can grow revenue consistently at a good rate. Looking at others in the podcasting space it seems boom are massively under valued and a correction is way over due. In short, no idea. Could be a new partnership, potential takeover or just the market waking up.

Is it Reddit? Google? Is it a leak? Lots of clients, must hard to keep everything secret.

That is how read it. Big investors building a bigger stake. One thing is for sure is that the smart speaker market is booming. Be it Alexa, podcasting, sound bars, DAB doing the pulling I am not sure, but the hardware is required regardless

If reddit could do it they wouldn't spend time talking to sonr and they would do it themselves. They beauty is, it is owned by BOOM not been commissioned by reddit. Hence BOOM are free (exclusivity deals aside) to sell it to reddits competition. They wont want that.

IMO based on very limited knowledge of the app and how much work was done with reddit (We do know that BOOM have been having meeting with them - so they are aware) The app will enhance the user experience by analysis of personal trends and likes and filter the articles from reddit accordingly (Reddit has a lot of content and it is hard to find all the pieces of interest). This is not just some simple algorithm. What else could this output of the algorithm being used for? Targeted adverts. Would reddit be interested in this? yes. Would advertisers benefit? yes
