....if things are always so good...so why aren't we seeing directors piling in at these levels? Hmmmmmmm......
PS Had to log in to 'recommend', in all sadness, your last post, John
I think you're right, Ronald......a close family member is a fund manager (of a small fund) and even he's precluded from buying into businesses such as OPG...partly because the business is too small but mainly because the City is obsessed with the ESG (environmental, social and governance) agenda which OPG hardly fits the bill (currently, at least).
Once the big seller is out of the way, even with the fact that OPG is burning coal, the fact that the business is churning out cash (which could be used to improve it's ESG credentials and/or pay a divi) means the sp is likely to respond positively in due course.
Just bought a few more (18000) myself this morning, rivaldo. Good to see you over here as well as in INSE
I couldn't agree more with you John. I've been on the side of the optimists for years now, but my patience is wearing thin, and I have to admit/accept that your concerns and wariness (or is it weariness?) about Ariana, in general, and Dr S, in particular, appear to be well-founded.
I do continue to hold here but increasingly looking to get out should I get back to break even (which is just below 3p as I made the schoolboy error of buying more, on the way down from the 6p high - drat)
Market cap = £22.6m
Net assets = £28m (almost)
Close the shop, cash in the assets and (in theory) we'd all be getting 2.3p per share.
C&B
Fulham (A), Liverpool (H), Villa (A), Spurs (A) in the Cup....I shall be watching from behind the sofa, I reckon.
I shall be at Turf Moor though for the Luton game when the great escape will begin. (Don't worry, I know I'm deluded).
...and a happy Christmas to the usual stalwarts on here (John, C&B, VanVan, DJ etc). Let's hope AAU can turn a corner in 2024 and bring us a little joy in the new year.
Very disappointing reaction to that RNS. What more would any (potential) investor want? Quite unbelievable.......
C&B - maybe for the Guinness ...less so for the bene and hot (which is the devil's drink). Anyhow, you'll easily spot me, I'll be the one in the corner crying into my beer (inconsolably) about the football and Ariana.......
Ha ha - you're quite right, John.....it's only a game (regarding Burnley) and it's only money (here).
I did think I was buying into and exploration company with ambition to become a junior miner. It seems that the junior miner thing is not part of the plan but selling off any finds to fund future exploration (in simplistic terms). I'm just hoping Tavsan and then Salinbas come on stream to give a boost to profits (and the sp). Assuming that happens in the next couple of years - but who, quite frankly knows any more - I think that could be time up as far as AAU is concerned. We'll see, I guess....
Gooner mate invited me, C&B. I'm reciprocating. I have a ticket for him in the Longside for the return match in Feb. Don't think he's ever experienced the finer aspects of the north, mcuh (and Burnley in particular). Wonder what he'll make of a bene and hot.
Just hope the Clarets and Ariana come good over the next few months. Looking a tad brighter today here.
PS Lyle Foster comment - spot on. So sad to hear that.
P1D - Speak for yourself, my dear old thing......
Hi John - just looking at the timings of those trades, it seemed likely that it was one seller making multiple trades in quick succession. Anyhow, I absolutely take your point and share your frustration. Looking back - hindsight's a wonderful thing and all that - should have got out at 6p.
Hi C&B - whether to stick or twist. I'm now below my average of 2.2p. I was also hoping for an update on Tavsan and when the mine's construction will be completed and in production. It's all a bit like watching Burnley right now.....having loads of potential but not quite producing. (I was at The Emirates on Saturday and sat with the Gooners (long story), who were reasonably impressed with us....but then it's easy to be slightly patronisingly pleasant to the opposition when you've won 3-1. I hope you enjoy the WHU game in a couple of weeks)
3 million shares in 5 trades, shifted by what (I'm guessing) looks like a big seller. Hopefully that's them out of the way and normal service might resume. P/E not much over 5 right now.....a bargain or a gamble?
Phew!
Hmmmmmm.
Disappointing that they don't appear to have met their deadline nor put anything out to explain why not. All we can hope is that the deadline has been met (or about to be met) and an RNS will follow some time this week. If no news this week then I fear the worst........
Good luck all......
I understand your thoughts, John. I just hope you're not catastrophising. If there were any chance of all those RNSs over the years from Ariana being untruthful - which is what you infer, might I suggest - then I reckon most of the current board would be in danger of facing criminal proceedings.
As I say, whilst I'm not totally naïve about all this, I would strongly hope your worries are just that......worries, which never come to fruition.
As for Burnley's current likelihood of staying in the Premier League....now that's a well-founded worry (as far as I can see!!)
I kind of thought that i.e. it was mentioned in the original message about suspension.
I haven't seen anything in the meantime to suggest they are going to meet the deadline of the end of the month. Failure to meet that deadline is going to kill this sp.
Just have to hope they are as good as their word. Fingers crossed for little red RNS dot tomorrow morning, other wise.........
Hey Ronald.....where have you seen the news that the suspension will be lifted tomorrow?
