My one main fear when Lemos was at the helm was that he was onto a win-win. Get results and he'd coin it with all his shares & options. Fail miserably and he'd pave the way for his former GF buddies to make a low-ball takeout offer.

It remains unclear why he was so unceremoniously ousted (don't get me started on the Board's total disregard for keeping shareholders informed!). Perhaps he was a double agent after all!

I still don't believe it was just down to under-delivering. CEOs don't get ousted overnight for that, especially without even receiving a single word of thanks from the Board. Au contraire, they're normally still rewarded - even for failure - with fat bonuses & ever more options.

But now he's gone, I suspect the chances of a GF takeover any time soon have largely evaporated.

I wouldn't be so sure of that if I were you. Tim's the original Teflon man. He's made a career out of other people losing money. Incanthera being just the latest example.

pebsi - the last P3 trial failed because it didn't meet ANY of its endpoints due to the dosage being way too low. A drug that's safe, but only as effective as the placebo, isn't going to cure anyone. Or make any investors any money.

Aimtitan - IQE is still heavily loss making and it'll take a lot more than $0.5m additional revenue this year to turn things round.

UK markets are particularly cautious right now & won't give companies the benefit of the doubt on potential future earnings unless these are clearly visible.

You obviously haven't been a LTH here. As for applying US multiples to a UK company, well nuff said really.

I suspect things WILL finally improve for IQE this year. But it's from a very low base. So "upwards of 30p"? I very much doubt it, unless you're talking a significantly longer timeframe than 2025.

There really has been a load of speculative nonsense posted here this morning.

Those talking up IMM are doing it mainly on the basis of Tim's latest interview. Longer term holders might recall how many times he's already raised investors' hopes, only for them to be dashed shortly afterwards. Look what happened to Incanthera recently in that regard too.

On the other hand, those talking about a placing overlook the recent share price rise, which makes the need for additional finance less likely at this stage.

I am a holder here. Have been for years. But I'm also a realist. There's certainly now a decent chance my holding will eventually make a significant return. Equally, there's the prospect of this latest "breakthrough" RNS just being another example of Tim's shameless puffery.

One thing I am certain about. If you take everything Tim says at face value, you'll soon be disappointed.

No news would be "neither good nor bad" if Tim hadn't hyped the price up beforehand with his breathless "breakthrough" RNS of 9th January. Not to mention his Reach release of 8th January, referencing the JPM conference.

If you march shareholders up to the top of the hill, then keep them hanging there for a fortnight, they tend to get cold & bored before eventually starting to drift back home.
