I thought all shorts were settled already, well according to the shorters they were. If it turns out after all that they weren't, perhaps the striking off of certain arms of Frontera was a sweetner for part of the deal. I just hope us pleb shareholders have been taken care of too, although I think the chances of this are slim to none. I guess we're then looking at a class action suit.
I guess whether we are wiped out or not will come down SN and Zaza's integrety, but also what value can be put on the company at this moment in time. You could argue that it may be higher after all the talk from Frontera, and by Outrider as they tried to fight us in court and via statements to the GG recently, stating how big the asset is. Being unlisted may actually help with the valuation. Does anybody have any experience on how they will calculate our value at present. Zaza ans Hope have gone on record and stated we have huge reserves. Hopefully during the silence and since the drilling campaign the reserves have been beefed up a bit.
I don't think Mapp is an old lady. Wasn't there a male poster years ago that liked to write poetry. They seemed like a knowledgeable trader type.
BTW, good work with emailing the lawyer. Many here, including myself, are being carried by the more pragmatic few.
I too am with II and being charged £10 a month for nothing, as I don't buy shares anymore. I would like to close the ii account but with the share certs missing I have been reluctant to add another layer of potential hassle. I wish this saga would just reach its conclusion!
Hi all. Sorry, I am a behind the curve on all this and I just don't have time to read back through all the posts to find out what everyone thinks. Persoanlly, I am in no way against reaching out to the press, but that letter seems more like a smear of Zaza and the company. Is it meant to come across as a threat to Zaza? Ie. Reply or we send this to the press?
That's a question I have asked a few times over my several years here. I asked if anyone knew of any other companies that had political ambitions rather than commercial ones, as at times it seemed like Frontera were trying not to succeed. No one ever knew of any/replied. I should have cut and run then, I really did believe Zaza had a master plan though :-(
Agreed ODR. Just as with Frontera's field development plan, the wells did not need to flow prolifically to be profitable. If GD and GOGC take everything back this is even more so. They will have taken no risk and spent just 16m to gain a field development plan or at least a good understanding of it from information they have seen and the announcements made so far. The wells are cheap to drill, the returns are good and they can partner with whom ever they want, or maybe just receive an injection of cash from certain rich Georgian individuals. Spending 16m is peanuts compared to gaining control of all those fields and the returns they can expect.
Part of me wonders if we have ever really had the full picture here, or at least since 2013 when Frontera realised the ruling party were not going to work with them. I always moaned about not just how poor Frontera's communication was, but more importantly how Frontera's communications seemed to suddenly changed to become so terrible. They used to communicate in great detail as to what was happening on the field, perhaps we know why there was a step change now. I don't want to get into the land of dreams, as that place has always turned into the land of nightmares where dreams of Frontera are concerned, but if there was a regime change, maybe, just maybe, the dreams could seem a little less ridiculous.
I do find it amazing that Starage, being so cautious, clever and researched, would have such a large holding here. I do wonder if he just unfortunately found himself holding a long position when the Cairn resignation caught everyone off guard. Technically a holder but perhaps only because he was playing this like a fiddle, going long and short as the games were played during listed times, and then suddenly was forced to become a long term holder when Cairn dropped that bombshell.
What about the "if not cured part". Does Zaza believe if they hand back the 99% and the breach is cured. I am looking at it only from layman's point of view. I've no idea about law.
Cheers Star. The threads are a bit all over the place. All this legal stuff is beyond me so I leave it to the clever boffins. I don't want to touch that link either. My belief now, regardless of the legals and politics, is we're unlikely to see much or any of our investment back. That's a chance I took when I bought, but I will admit I didnt think it would take this long or become this dirty. Back to waiting patiently for me.
Star, you said I disn't suggest Zaza could be lying to provide balance. If you check my earlier posting I actually said that is more likely. Under the
With that said, I do accept it could be all true and as I said earlier, that could be more likely. Difficult to put a number on that though.
Agreed ekxoc, and similar to my post earlier this morning. Starage is choosing to 99% believe this is true document. Also choosing to try to convince people it couldn't be fake as it would be too complicated to fabricate such a document, which is likely true, but neglecting to point out some careful doctoring on just a few important points could change the outcome entirely and would be very simple to do providing you had access to the document in the first place. I believe Starage is too clever to not have considered this. It raises alarm bells in my mind that in his quest for objectivity that he could be so trusting of this dump and take the it can't be fake as it's too complicated without coming up with alternative possibilities.
Sorry for the typos. I had not long woken up and was still bleary eyed.
I haven't read it and don't intend to. It's odd that it is leaked here and not to a journalist/official media outlet though. It could very easily be tweeked/edited to paint a worse picture. The fact this has been leaked to us and most likely not by anyone in the Frontiers camp means that can't be ruled out. If it is not edited perhaps this hardball by GD to prevent what could be a smear campaign to aid regime change. With the way this has been going I don't seem how either possibility can be ruled out. I accept it could be more likely Zaza is the liar and holding out for a change in governement, but I wouldnt put a 99% certainty on that, not by the odd way this has been leaked.
It certainly seems like we're waiting die, but why keep battling (Hope next) and amassing more debt that seems impossible to pay back if death really is a certainty. I do wonder though, if the company does survive these battles what effect will that have on our share holding. Now that we're private can they dilute us out through deals and could we be none the wiser. Not that I am worrying, I have mentally written off this investment. Would rather be pleasantly surprised than eternally frustrated!
So it seems the one thing FRR may have is data, but will anyone really worry? They didn't quite perfect the extraction technique needed to make the oil or gas flow (certainly out of Taribani and MGC). Also, there is enough info already out there to point a new company at least in the right direction with regards technique, location of drills, depth etc, so I don't suppose a big company with deep pockets and a headstart will take anywhere near as long to get it right. Much of the risk is removed.
I guess we just have to hope that the 50 square km 1% we're left with (and its associated data) represent the juiciest most explored parts of the block. Taribani is 80 square km and mtsare gas complex is 950 square km, so it's clear we have lost some of this. Maybe Frontera's field development plan did not include the entire area of both Taribani and MGC though.
I hope everyone is well and thanks to the posters still making efforts to keep this forum and the dream alive lol All the best
Don't listen to him Zaza, he must be loaded!
Cashing in the golden tickets when times are as hard as they are right now would be great!
I think until he thought there was no chance of negotiating a deal prior to arbitration concluding he probably thought it best to keep quiet. This could because he is worried the result won't be in his favour, but that could be due various reasons. The first is of course an outright loss of everything. However, it could be that even if he won and was awarded substantial compensation but lost the block, that he might have favoured a deal to keep the block and continue with his multi-billion plan to develop the resources found. This may be due to financial and political reasons. It seems there is more to this than outright profit and loss. Keeping hold of the block, or as much of it as possible from the parts they wanted to develop, could be of utmost importance.
Don't rise to Fire. When people used to moan about the lack of information coming from Frontera he used to say "well we knew what we were investing in". He likes to play devil's advocate and make people think alternatively, just loves a mass debate. If we were all on here sympathising with the workers and saying how terrible Frontera are he'd probably pop in to post about what Frontera have been up against etc etc.
It is a very confusing time, but one thing is clear to me. This has gone so high politically that there is more to this than was meeting the eye, and in the grand scheme that makes us little investors insignificant noise.
