Marshall Wace playing Chicken with Apollo was always a bad idea, Apollo is a big beast and get what they want.
Apollo Corporate motto (very tongue in Cheek)
"We are the Apollo (Borg). You will be assimilated. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Resistance is futile"
Took the 400 on offer this morning for my small holding 2500 @ 245, hadn't held them very long so a decent profit in a short space of time.
Hope all the LTH`s here get a bidding war and good luck to you all
an odd question but one worth asking
Who exercises the voting rights on;
1. The shares held for employees but not yet issue to them under the performance share scheme
2. The shares held for charities
3. Any treasury shares (if there are any , I dont know)
Qube short increase
Qube have 8 short positions on LSE, they increased 3 on the 19th, and 7 out of 8 between the 14th and now.
Not sure how they work , but looks like they are playing the macro rather than the share
2 of the 8 have active bids on them if that means anything
stevinhull
I didn`t insult you unless you are Ste2000
I actually said I would quit calling you out because of your explanation of negativity, which I accepted. Its now entirely up to you if you wish to continue
SteveinHull
You said "I have been in and stayed in" ....That explains a lot why in bid situations your so negative and I do get it
I hope you get made whole, with whatever happens, as I said no more "calling out from me" . (Although I do reserve the right to call out "pond scum ste2000")
Stevinhell
I have been in and out of this share a couple of times in the last year , made profit each time, but left a lot of money on the table as I could have sold each time much higher. You can check the board posts from the time to check that
Thanks for saying your a holder, so you believe in the company , then why would every post be negative (when you said a couple of positive things on Friday last week, people though you were ill or having an episode)
If you are one of the very unlucky people who bought at the top of the market (500-800) that would explain it , in which case apologies and this will be my last post to you
Steveisdull (liked that from AlgoMan, kudos)
All you got to do is Give an explanation as to why with no holding /position why you would spent a considerable part of the last year (nearly 1600 posts all on this board) on this chat board?. As you said and I quote "The psychology of some of this thinking interests me more than anything else if I am honest"
The "Oracle of Hull" has been posting negative stuff on this name (let alone the others) day after day, week after week till he has nearly 1600 posts in a year. He claims he is impartial, nobody on this forum is impartial, the difference is most are reasonably honest about it.
From his comments today , the briefing (talking points )notes he got this morning from his handler appear to be, you will see this from different posters too when you look
1. No conspiracy
2. All THG company's fault
3. Cause conflict
Chilled also and actually enjoying the drama, watching the desperate shorts posts is extremely enjoyable, this is the Endgame
As Russell Crowe would say in Gladiator ....... "ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED"
and here is a good guide on takeover rules from Clifford Chance for any other clarifications people may want to know

here is the rule on Disclosure
5.4.1 Disclosure and Transparency Rules
Chapter 5 of the Disclosure and Transparency Rules (DTR 5)
require an acquisition or disposal of a notifiable holding of voting
rights attached to traded shares (generally 3 per cent or more, or
a move through a whole percentage point thereafter for UK
issuers) to be notified to the issuer concerned as soon as
possible and by no later than two trading days for UK issuers and
four trading days for non-UK issuers. Indirect holdings have to be
aggregated and separately identified in any notification to the
issuer and shareholdings of all persons under the same control
must be aggregated for the purposes of DTR 5. Where the
holding relates to a listed issuer, the notification must also be filed
with the FSA.
The issuer must notify the market via a Regulatory Information
Service as soon as possible and by no later than one trading day
for a listed issuer and three trading days for all other issuers
within the scope of DTR 5. Further changes which take the
holding through a whole percentage figure must also be notified,
as must changes in particulars previously notified.
