Plenty - the discussion of a fee to MS had been discussed from near the outset.
I have made a point that even though a fee will not be published as a fee there will be a differential in costs between MS and Lloyds which will form the basis of the earnings that MS will make.

Where have i said that?
I have pointed out that a figure that is stated as a total cost is not the total cost.
I have also said that an incorrect or correct figure is not needed to see the progress.

also as I have said many times, it has no bearing on what the day to day value the market will place on Lloyds - too many people think that it will automatically increase a share price - the thing that will happen is a price differential between pre and post the programme - about 2.8p.

Correct, completely irrelevant as far as that is concerned.
Only out of interest is getting an idea of when the programme will finish .

I repeat, there is no nit nitpicking, is is a vase of highlighting the fact that a figure being posted as a total cost is not the total cost. Even a correct figure is not really necessary to be posted.

We all know that it is a £2 Billion purchase program.
percentage spend figure is all that is needed to show progress - it doesn't need the incorrect total cost figure or indeed a correct total cost figure.

There is and most likely won't be anything published to show the level of income that MS will make - it is clear that it won't be classed as a 'fee' for Lloyds, but there will be a differential in costs.
You can take out a mortgage for example paying a fee or not paying a fee - non fee based meaning extra monthly costs. The extra cost is still there.

There has been no misunderstanding on part only on the part of HU , which is why I indicated to him that the RNS's did not include tax, where he ha assumed they did.

Total cost of shares includes tax - if you are not including tax then you should n't state it as being the total cost - simple
Moaning is misdirected .
I prefer to point out that the wrong description is being attached to cost figures being put out - there is a simple remedy - correctly describe the figure or not give the figure at all (it is not needed)

IT WAS HU WHO DECIDED TO HAVE A TOTAL COST FIGURE (including tax)

He has now giving a total cost figure that does not include tax without saying so

if you don't understand the mechanism as you have already demonstrated in the past, that is your problem. Lloyds are investing in Lloyds on behalf of shareholders.

Until an update is given then the only figures that can be quoted are the last published figures.
Similar to Lloyds profit figures - Previous published figures can be quoted but the unknown future ones cannot.

If I had said that I was purchasing shares on behalf of Lloyds that would be incorrect - but as all shareholders should know MS are buying shares on behalf of shareholders.
