The market is continually valuing Lloyds throughout the day - that value divided by the number of shares in issue gives you the share price.

That is because there is - the price differential depending on the amount of shares taken off of the market as a percentage of what the share count would be without the investment.

They could have, but they chose a different option, one which I prefer - buying shareholder equity valued at getting on towards 60p per share for less than 50p.

Of course we do - the market is giving Lloyds a market cap based on the current number of shares. The current market cap without the reduced number of shares means that the share price would have to be about 1.5% lower

It is obvious that you do not know the effect of the Lloyds investment plan.
Very roughly, without the shares having been bought since 25th Feb, the share price currently would be about 1.5% lower

How many more times - in the end it comes down to profitability, not the amount from profits given as a dividend.
I think you would find with the current profitability that if zero was given as dividend with most profits directed into the purchasing of lloyds shares, that would be most beneficial.
Lloyds was in the 80's with zero dividend.
