If the investment in Lloyds shares reduces the number by 6%, a 6% increase shouldn't be a disappointment to a shareholder, but I am sure there would be the usual whingers.
If the shares are still valued favourably as measured against shareholder equity then this would more easier enable a further investment in Lloyds shares of a simalar size to the current one .
btw any increase in payment per share is progressive, not matter how the increase has been helped. You will have to wait until the half year to see if the dividend payment has been progressed
