there is a big difference between being a British citizen and being British where ancestry going back many hundreds of years can be traced within the British Isles.

Many people living in the UK even if born here would regard themselves as being P iakistani / Indian /Chinese /Somalian/ Nigerian etc etc etc etc etc.

They would even support those countries sporting teams in matches against the home nations.

I do remember a documentary a number of years ago showing cars cruising around Bradford with their P iakistani flags flying from them with the occupants saying 'this is our city now'.

accommodation costs could in a lot of cases have been met without having to sell a property. In the case of my friends mum, the property could have been rented out for about £2,500 per month, and this along with pension and investment income would most likely have covered care cost. So a huge difference, with being able to pass on the property.

By the say anything Socialists, to get into power, that also affects the elderly.

A cap on care home costs was going to come into force in October 2025 which the Socialists said before the election that they were going to keep. Then once in power they scrapped it.

I mention this at a time when a friends mother has just had to go into a home. After the friends parents having worked and saved all their lives and ending up having a mortgage free property worth £600,000 + the property will have to be sold to meet the care home costs of about £100,000 per year.

Others of course needing a care home will get it completely free, having always rented and spending every penny that they earned.

An investors position would depend on their transaction levels. Personally I made a sale at about 78p in May. I may or may not make a purchase at near the current level .
