A trade is determined a 'buy' or 'sell' based on a traded price relative to previous trades. It is all a bit meaningless as someone's buy is someone else's sell and vice verser . I personally have made purchases that have been tagged a 'sell'. An 'unknown' is when the system cannot determine a buy or sell tag

With a continued buyback policy - a 100p share price next year would put Lloyds on a market cap at less than the level reached 10 years ago and a lesser and lesser level in comparison, with each passing year.

I am sure they will be back if there is any reason to do so. Basically gamblers are relying on other gamblers to push up a share price number in order to make an exit. Unfortunately some would have paid too high a price.
