Indeed Shahz, they stopped buying shortly after the takeover rumours started spreading.

If, as they should be given that guidance has remained unchanged, the results tomorrow are broadly in line with expectations and there are then no director buys within the next couple of weeks or so then surely that would be a huge indication that a buyout is being discussed.

They would surely want to invest at these levels or at least show faith in the stock, but if there's a potential takeover they couldn't because of insider trading regulations.

Thought I'd share as another potential area to watch amongst everything else.

I had no idea trade reversals existed, if I did, I would have reversed my buy from 6 months ago and bought back in today!

Let's hope so Mr Market. At least you can still get in then for the ride to £3.....

I am a little more optimistic JG. I have only heard good things and there's even the added variable of a potential buyout in the mix.

All positions are in and we'll see tomorrow I guess.

The shorters have done very well here, it's the longs turn now.

But no institutional or insider sells, that's the difference. That indicates 95% of the holders here are happy to retain their positions and see this either staying at this point or rising otherwise they'd sell and move on (or sell and buy back cheaper)

I didn't think we'd be here the day before results JG. Regret buying in when I did, but I still believe. Thankfully I'm not in a rush for the cash, but would be nice to see my investment growing.

Rolls Royce had a drop of around 10% in the week run up to results I think. Now one week on and it's nearly 50% up on that.

Agreed Shahz, they even sent an email saying that they haven't updated because there isn't anything to update upon

Thunder 95% of the stock hasn't really moved for the best part of a year so there's only 5% that is actively trading. The shorts are therefore playing with 50% or more of the active stock and that's why they've been able to control it.

It doesn't appear that the news of the half price sale here that's ending tomorrow has spread

So today is the last chance for people to take or exit their positions before results. Could be an interesting day.

2227 A lot of people have said they believe there are a number of signs pointing to NEX being subject to a future buyout, including the current pricing levels.

There were even named rumours in September/October last year.

Another big one, but this time towards the top of the day's range makes a nice change

ASOS shorts were at nearly 8% and actually increased the day before results, they are now about 4% and the price has risen by nearly 50%

I was thinking about the 100m rights issue at the start of the pandemic where the shares were sold for £2.30 each.

Surely now would be a great time for a buy back whilst the price is so suppressed? Are they able to commence a buy back, but cap the price per share they pay? e.g not pay more than £2 which would still represent a 15% profit

They've said results are in line with expectations though so again, this shouldn't happen (not saying it won't)

Looking at the short charts, it appears this is the highest percentage level it has been in the last 2 years.

On the flip side, if the takeover rumours suddenly came true (like Wood Group) or the Institutional Investors buy into the latest results (and average down at the same time) then this could be a good thing as there's potentially immediately more buying as they rush to close.

I can't believe this. I really didn't forsee this being here so close to results.
