Ironically I woke up this morning feeling today we could finally break 150. All the moves had suggested this was getting more bullish.

Will be interesting to see if this is a play to snatch stop losses and nervous sellers

Someone dumped 300k at open at caused the drop. Incredible that 300k out of a total of 600m can cause such a move

Looks like another big uncrossing trade (in comparison to the overall volume) at £1.426.

This may be moving up more slowly than people hoped, but the incremental gains and recovery from dips each day are bullish don't you think?

Ah thank you. Still could be another new 2023 closing high if we can hold this level.

Could also be a short reducing or larger buyer.

This is the first time this has risen into the close since last week's results were announced.

I imagine something will land tomorrow, most likely a broker rating , but could be other positive news.

I guess you're a bit torn here being a driver and shareholder. What's your view on this from speaking to your colleagues?

Apparently Unite have now declared the strike will just carry on from next Thursday until resolved. This will surely put this to bed quickly as workers won't be able to afford to let the union drag it out whilst they go unpaid.

Hopefully the local authority will agree to let NEX vary the agreement to reach a compromise with workers and we can all move on

We held 141.50 today, so although it's not another rise it's a good sign after the high trade volumes today. Hopefully the action was those with much more buying power than us loading up so we can continue the move back up.

There's been a 3.5m sell apparently, can't see what the other trades were that pushed this one up today. Anyone else?

Possibly that sell is what has held this back at the 1.40 level since Thursday?

Thanks Paddy, although I'm not in the same league as some on here. I only came back in September after jumping ship too early during the covid recovery.

It's today that directors can start buying isn't it? As I mentioned before results, if we don't see any then it could be another sign that a takeover is being discussed. I didn't realise until recently that Bloomberg interviewed a number of trade desks in January and apparently this was among the tip 10 UK companies named as likely takeover targets.

3 green days in a row. I genuinely can't remember the last time we saw that here. I know it's not rising as quickly as we expected on those results, but I'm not sure why the negativity is creeping in. All this is doing is extending the opportunity for people to buy in at these levels and hopefully create a floor for the next leg up.

People who think this is bad should have tried experiencing what long term holders have over the last year or so

So Unite have posted an advert stating that NEX have "Billions in the Bank"!

As a respectable union I'm sure they wouldn't spread false news, so on that basis this market cap really is a steal...!

I agree it's important to understand what's happening, long or short, we are all invested here after all.

The "loss" though is very misleading in my view, it's actually really helpful though because when looking into reports on the trading update it shows which websites are very much written by bots and which actually have some thought put into them. From what I've read they are just writing down the value of an asset which is clever accounting and all the journalistic sites seem to be reporting positivity. They even refer to Alsa as the "jewel in the crown" at their presentation.

I also noted during their presentation when asked about a potential sale of some of the business, they answered it very carefully. They said something along the lines of "it's an option that we keep open if the right offer came along, but we don't actually need the money right now as the plan is coming along nicely"

Don't be like that. I don't believe that JG has sold and if he has it certainly wasn't at a loss as we'd discussed on here that he'd reached break even.

JG was also good enough to share his response from the National Express investor relations prior to results which gave a lot of people reassurance during the last short attack.

I believe this is the first time this year we have seen 2 green days in a row and also the first time we have finished above 140.

Hopefully that's symbolic that the route back up is on. Have a great weekend all, see you Monday.

Don't they tend to tip their investors off beforehand so they can make their moves before the rating becomes public?
