Rolls Royce did 40% in a week after results and that was circa 30% ahead of it's lows already at that time. This was literally at it's lows on results so a 40% rise in a week would be modest in my view.

Also, I was thinking about the strikes. Although it will cost the company, it might not be as much as people think because they don't pay wages and won't have the overhead of running the buses on those days etc.

It's disruptive and is something you would want resolved, but Omicron was far more disruptive in Q1 last year and they still paid salaries then.

So all those people who said if it dips back into the 130s they'd buy more, are you increasing? A lot of people compared this To Rolls Royce and that dipped first thing the day after results I believe

I was the same with NEX during COVID. My average then was in the £1.30 region I think and I cashed out a chunk when it broke even, then the reminder at about £2. Even then I missed out massively as it went to £3 I understand

That's what I hate about shorting though. It plays on people's fears and can cause them to lose significant amounts of money for no good reason.

Fair play JG you must have done some impressive averaging down. I got in too deep during the first takeover news so haven't been able to benefit from the lows.

I hope you're right to hold, I certainly am. It feels like it should continue and everything sounded positive. Surely shorts have enough profit here now (I'm convinced a lot of the buying back at the lows was them) and we can all enjoy the journey northwards. It bothers me that we are stuck at the £1.40 ceiling again (albeit it's much better than £1.20), but makes sense as it was held here for a while and so there will likely be a lot of profit taking from the lows combined with people jumping ship at break even.

2% of the total stock was traded today and it moved up 12% yet it would need to go up by another 80% (approx) or more to get move back to where it was before the drop the shorts caused with just 2.5%

This is an ingenious move if you ask me. The West Mids Union have been using the group profit to justify their pay increase demands, that argument looks pretty weak now and should make an amicable compromise much more likely.
