London plans paused20 Sep 2017 13:02
"Private hospital group Spire Healthcare has paused its plans to build a £500 million private hospital in London, according to the Telegraph.
Interim chief executive Simon Gordon told the publication that London property prices, business rates and drop in health tourism to the capital had contributed to the decision. “Increasingly people’s health problems are being dealt with in their domestic market, particularly the Middle East,” he said"
This is absolutely, 100% the correct decision in my opinion. The big London hospitals are struggling as it is due to the big drop-off in Middle East revenue. No need for Spire to be pouring money in to this just to be able to say that they're in London. Good move.
