Unfortunately AIM shares (I know this is main market, but it has all the hallmarks of an AIM dog share) do tend to attract those simplistic pump & dump types. More than one of these fools have had their accounts wiped in recent weeks for very sneaky 'I've had an email, good news coming, wink wink' type ramps.
In my view, much of the share price collapse here is based on history as much as anything else. Challenger has never been involved with a project which has gone well and has resulted in a viable revenue stream. This was historically ramped to high heaven on 'Jakarta' and '25 GOW projects in the pipeline', none of which ever happened.
Now it's 'NY Wheel' and 'EOT' we're all supposed to be excited about, while all shareholders actually get is a steady stream of CLN RNS', explaining how their holding has been diluted to hell again, to try and keep the lights on. Couple that with the woeful company comms (covered at length in marineville's posts) and you can see why it's a bargepole stock for the vast majority of people.
They have a chance to turn this around, but there's a lot of market trust to be regained first.
