The directors of this company must have one of the most complex webs of company names, directorships and/or ownership percentages I've ever seen! Tech Minerals, Recyclus, CCL, Halo - I hope they can keep track of it all as I'm struggling.
I'm in here for the Recyclus business - the full EA full licensing is the key to get this moving swiftly. Hoping for some positive news on this front soon.

Stagecoach, I agree with most of your comment but I think any sniff of the end of the war would boost stock prices across the board, at least briefly.
And whoever said the war had not affected the UK economy is living in cloud cuckoo land. It's not the cause of all problems but it's certainly been a significant contributing factor to energy price rises, which is in turn the biggest factor of inflation.

PS For the stock name you sometimes have to write the .LN on the end, such as GGP.LN or UFO.LN.

Berenberg raises Rio Tinto to 'buy' ('sell') - price target 6,700 (4,000) pence

The main positive from this, as others have stated, is that the money stays in the company (200 Million).
However one little niggle ( other than the SP fall and no divi!! ) is that the share buybacks have become pretty much redundant as they are not paying the divi anyway!

What I meant to say, really, is that the options wouldn't have been able to be used if the company hadn't improved it's position and share price.

Anyway, meanwhile GOLD looks like it's sticking around $1,875.

Depends how you frame performance - would you say the share price is up or down since those options were awarded?
Would you say that the company is in better shape than when those options were awarded?

I don't think they need to do all those geochemical surface soil samples or the airborne magnetic surveys - I've found an easier way - for example:
Sc ( Scandium )
Al ( Aluminium )
Y ( Yttrium - you heard it here first :-)
W ( Tungsten )
Ag ( Silver )

I think that the specials have been bonuses based on production levels combined with market conditions - in the RNS for this year it states:

"As with the first Windfall Dividend paid in April 2021, this dividend payment is based on excess cashflow generated from PGM prices achieved above long-term broker consensus prices for these metals for the 2021 calendar year."

So it's effectively not guaranteed. However for me personally, I would be happy for the "standard" divi to be split into two anyway, and a bonus paid on top if applicable. I always feel that one single heavy dividend can skew the demand in the market in the build up to the ex-divi date.

I wonder if gold leaps up and stays there whether the higher figure would have met Mr Biswas / Newcrest’s investment hurdles.....
