Hi Brains, that is a good spot. It's really strange being valued at about 75k when it still holds ( according to the RNS in January ) 450,746,213 ordinary shares which should value the company on that basis alone at about 5.8 million.
Anyway, I've tried before to work out all the interwoven Alex Stanbury companies and as a non business person it's all above me. I'm trying to turn a blind eye to all the financial stucture but it does more than niggle me (Stanbury is major shareholder in CCL who is major shareholder in TM1 who is major shareholder in Recyclus who is something to do with Halo and I'd given up by then) . I really want this to be successful and I've put a decent chunk in here. We've had good news and a bit of momentum so I don't want to start any conspiracy theories as this is likely down to my limited understanding but I don't have an explanation. I open this up to anyone else!

I looked up information on "Schedule 5 Notice" - the EA have obviously dealt with the application and are requesting final points of clarification. It is time sensitive so hopefully the ball is now definitely rolling!!!

The Environment Agency. is responsible for issuing a schedule 5 notice.

The notice can be issued once an environmental permit application has been made. It is usually a request for more information.

Schedule 5 notices are usually therefore time limited. If you do not respond to the notice within the required timeframe, your application may be withdrawn.

A schedule 5 notice is also your opportunity to explain certain aspects of your business to the Environment Agency. The notice may just require points of clarification. In some instances the notice will request that you provide additional surveys or data to support your application.

An inappropriate response to the notice or failure to respond correctly, could therefore result in your application being withdrawn or returned. In the latter case you will lose your initial application fee.

Hi Bluesky, it's strange, when you hear the interviews, especially the Roast / Takeaway ones, there is so much going on across many different fronts, I'd expected a little more communication. Concentrating on the recycling as it's the quickest route to cashflow, I thought the December news of the first lead acid batteries being recycled was a turning point - and the interviews that followed made me feel that there was some momentum building. This was then coupled with the first tranche of drawdown and the R&D appointment and you expect even without the EA license that we're going to be able to start reporting a busy factory and get some numbers out to shareholders. But we're nearly a month after the appointment and over two months after the first manual processing and it's gone quiet. We can only hope for a bonanza RNS which fills in all the details (hopefully alongside a full EA permit, or am I being greedy?)!

Whatever released news comes next is going to tell us a lot, one way or the other! I really hope it's not a conversion notice with no further info - and to be absolutely honest I'm not too fussed about the exporation at this stage as if successful with this side of the business you can self fund that up to a point.

It's good to hear that the site is active anyway - I'll take any good news at the moment, ha!

Itsoutthere, you keep saying / typing the same thing over and over and over about Andrew Forrest. You may be right, you may be wrong, but this is not ITV where they have to keep re-capping after every advert break.

Berenberg Bank adds target price for Greatland Gold

Berenberg Bank reiterated its ‘Buy’ Greatland Gold [LON:GGP] and set a target price of 19p. The mining company recently provided updates on it’s exploration and development programs with the Havieron project showing “significant progress” and “new record high advancement rates achieved” and “encouraging second drilling results” at its Juri Joint Venture.

If this scenario is realistic, then providing the project is continuing unhindered I would suggest to leave it as long as possible while NCM are paying 70% of Capex!

Matty, I started looking into Shanta back in May '21 as I liked the balance of an explorer, developer & miner, but obviously still with a relatively low MCap. I paid more back then than what you can get for your money now, but I've continued adding as I believe the company is growing. It's had its issues but the bigger picture is that a second mine is coming on line ( where money spent on dev is now going change to revenue ) which is coupled with some fantastic and constistent gold grades in their West Kenya exporation. So I feel this is finally going to budge in the next few months!
I'm pretty certain you'll get back above your 13p but this is a long term hold for me unless the SP goes crazy out of the blue!

Meanwhile I watched Callum's interview and I'm glad I did - so much positivity and reassurance for GGP holders in there.
I even learned a bit of geology!
For both GGP and Shanta, the M&A activity plus upward pressure on the Gold price is pointing towards a 'favourable' 2023! ( I need to understate that to manage my own expectations!! )

Hi Matty, I've not had chance yet but I've read some of the comments and it sounds really positive - I will have a listen this evening! Things are looking up for GGP, and with Shanta the countdown is on for first pour at Singida. I always think a "first pour" headline is one that can really have a meaningful effect on share price, so I'm really looking forward to that one. I'm hoping to get past the recent 'takeover' highs when that is announced.

I like that positivity Bluesky, I'm still enthusiastic. I'm not one to be demanding a myriad of RNSs demanding to know what is happening on a half-hourly basis, but with respect to the Recyclus part of the company and sepcifically the Tipton factory looking to have started manual production, I must admit I was hoping for a little bit more meat on the bones by now. However, it looks a really really decent entry price now!!!!

I don't know where the £1.9 Billion comes from, but whatever the figure I'm pretty certain it's related only to Newcrest's assets. So that figure ( or whatever figure ) would be Telfer Mine, Telfer processing, surrounding stuff and 70% of Havieron,not 100%.

I really thought we'd hear about the offtake agreements by now. And I thought at least some of the money was being used to buy in the lead acid batteries to manually recycle, or have I got that wrong?

Have been reading much of this and have seen the RNS.

Here's my take. Maybe a bit simplistic but here goes.
If Newmont & Newcrest shareholders agree to the takeover, then Newmont have two options with the Havieron asset. One is to continue and one is to divest. If it's to continue then it's a case of new management -and if you're definitely continuing the project then the DTM is surely going to happen. If the takeover is agreed and they try to divest, then they will have to sell Havieron - and that'd be Telfer up for sale too as I can't think of many scenarios where one would be kept without the other. All things will continue while a sale is underway as it makes no sense to pause anything, and any new buyer is, well, going to mine it! Final option is that the takeover falls through? Strangely that seems like the most difficult one to predict, but I'd go for the status-quo to be maintained.
