I will refrain from making any politically biased observations, but I am concerned the same issue will cascade when an effective vaccine is in place.

Bingham has said that if Oxford's vaccine is not effective, it will manufacture others, as well as building up capacity to produce millions of doses within a few months.

I am not surprised that they are centring on Oxford and then pushing flu vaccines.

In the recording, just before 15:00, the started discussing T-Cell response without antibody response. They are saying it is a confounding factor in predicting Herd Immunity, but lost the speaker at a very interesting point.

Thank you BS, I have posted your post in a couple of Covid19 groups elsewhere who will be interested.

Some seem to have taken my view that sub-par projects means failure, that was not intended - it was only meant to mean not commercially viable (much like some of the cancer immunotherapy trials).

We still have 7BN people who need vaccines at some point, and there will (hopefully) be excess manufacturing capability (given Gates Foundation investment amongst others).

Looking commercially, the money will be on the ones which give the best protection for this and future covid viruses. Since Scancell are working on one which benefits the aged, there is a ready market of at least 700 million. As for those who already have immune system impairments, I have not looked it up.

However, there are already more reports of ME/CFS symptoms in younger people, so I am hopeful that most industrialised countries will stop treating it as "no worse than a cold".

Last time I checked, the preferred route was to ask alumni. I have not seen any progress towards obtaining the goal to complete the research.

My personal belief is that there will be firms willing to abandon sub-par vaccine projects to bring one which helps the most vulnerable. I believe there are 8 vaccines already going through human trials (thanks to a post on this BB).

Also, there are manufacturing facilities in the UK which could be put to use if those fall through.

Just to add, I thought Scancell's Covid19 was being tested on mice at the moment. To me, that sounds like it is further along the journey than early stages.

LOL - as market capitalisation is a function of the price and #number of shares in issued, it feels like a magical roundabout sometimes.

Since several key figures took options at 8.5 along with their salary cut, I think we are all expecting the share price to settle north of that point sooner rather than later.

It means China will have three different types of vaccine technology to fight Covid-19 going through human trials. Two more types of potential vaccine are in preclinical studies.

Indeed, why Scancell's 2nd Gen Covid-19 vaccine is so important!
