Same here. I sold a couple of days ago. Feel sick for anyone left in this.
Looked very busy over the weekend!
Unfortunately doesn't look good at all. This is not weather related, we've had ideal weather for shifting cold weather items for several weeks. CEO is clueless. Needs to go, and I think it's going to be pretty easy for Dunkerton to persuade the money people to back him on this. Not expecting a good day today.
Berenberg have reduced rating to a Hold with 900p target. Considering current SP, this is still a massive and realistically achievable gain, with a very healthy yield.
I expect a lot of value investors to come into the fold following tomorrow's results, especially if management put their hands very deeply into their pockets and invest in their own company! It's high time for Mr Sutherland to put his money where his mouth is.
Added. This is now dirt cheap. This was trading at 2000p twelve months ago folks. No debt issues, still growing, strong brand, massive opportunities for expansion and P/E of less than 10. Couple that with strong interest from outside parties and I see this as a massive opportunity.
Well, he's got exactly what he wanted. Panic reaction, gets to buy it all back on the cheap, then turns the ship around with a few strategic changes for a massive profit. Again, well played. I for one am going along for the ride on this one.
Well, well, well. According to a Guardian piece this evening, it would appear that Mr Dunkerton is already very much on the scene. Certainly explains why the Liberum commentary seemed so familiar. Well played. As a PI hoping the best for SDRY’s future, this is going to be an interesting ride.
Liberum have just come in with their assessment. Given it a TP of 700p and Hold rating. Saying that Brand is still strong with growth potential, but not happy with current strategy. Interesting to see what gets announced on Wednesday in the trading update. Wonder if Dunkerton will use this as his opportunity to get more involved again?
The price today is absolutely ridiculous. Reminds me of the bank SP collapses when Brexit vote came in, immediately followed by massive recoveries. Lowest broker target on this is sector perform with 900p, and the highest is more than double that. Business has a good strategy, is growing, is multi-channel, making a profit and has a strong brand. Surely the value investors at the very least can see this is the time to scoop up? Sooner this Brexit nonsense is over, the better.
Agreed.
Big question for me is whether the market has now priced in all the pessimism, i.e. the inevitable failed Brexit vote and a possible so-so trading update, or whether it has further to fall. Is now the time to average down in a big way or wait? Losing two thirds of value in less than twelve months has been astounding, but surely over done, especially considering the potential bounce on the right news. Catch this at the right point and it could be a massive win.
My thoughts precisely when Invesco piped up. They would say that wouldn’t they.
Some serious tree shaking going on this morning on the SP. Trading at historic lows, pays a good dividend, likely to have a significant sales boost from recent cold weather and strategy in place for growth and diversification. Topping up.
Congrats to all who made money on this by ignoring Berenburg's "univestable" and 12p target analysis last week. Very expensive lesson learned by me on this one. Will take everything they put out with a massive pinch of salt from here on.
Interim results this time next week. Hopefully, having now had the sustained period of cold weather that the business is currently reliant on whilst awaiting diversification into summer lines, these results will provide the encouragement this SP needs.
Agreed, very under valued at moment. If you genuinely believe all retail is dead then walk away, otherwise this seems like the bargain of the year. Made money on this when the take over was announced, and now plan to make money from watching it rise back to a sensible pre-offer level.
It's making me feel better about the massive loss I sustained coming out at 30p on Friday, at least better than this wipe out. Best of luck to anyone still in this. Hope it turns around for you.
