NtM... perhaps there is the making of a new religious faith with that answer...
The fuss is that it is unclear if shareholders are going to be in the loop about what has been achieved with Phase 1 and Phase 2.
It is just as feasible that we are short of a sellable resource (either too low a tonnage or too low average grades) as we have actually found "billions of $ of copper and gold". The announcement of Phase 3 does not answer the fuss. Its purpose could be to bail out an over promise under deliver scenario (XTR history). Colin has mentioned the 1000 lashes just a bit too often for comfort (did Shakespeare write that Colin protests just a little too much ?). If its the troubled world that has scuppered any deal that Colin was close to pulling off then we should be told that rather than the vague "oh these markets are really bad". What I have come to believe with Colin is that his communication is not poor but intentionally opaque... as that is the way he operates. The problem may be that it worked in the past but it may not work now. The seemingly "no point in giving out good new because the markets are bad" have contributed to the SP weakness and yet it is somehow then deduced that a Phase 3 announcement is good news ? More than ever now Colin your shareholders are looking for clear transparent forward guidance. This market will not reward otherwise. So... what do we have exactly after Phase 1 and Phase 2 ? The answer is not "enough to justify Phase 3" btw :-)
Is this the same buy-back that may have just been kicked into the long grass ?
I feel I missed my opportunity to cash in at a higher SP here. Greed clouded my judgement despite knowing all too well the history of truth economics. I see this drifting lower now as it seems there is nothing concrete to gamble all the much awaited FB cash on.
Without a clearly communicated end game, I would think XTR is now vulnerable to a buyout. That SP spike of 18 months ago looks out of sight now so brace ourselves for any low ball offers. The forward selling that takes place around the cash raises should indicate that large holders are prepared to accept what appears to be too low a price.
I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I hope Colin will be more wheeler dealer to maximise a return for shareholders sooner than later, rather than geologist who would drill forever if someone else pays. I understand the temptation to spend the FB cash but as someone said earlier, in this uncertain world a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush... NicetoMichu quiet at the back :-)
A4444... Totally agree. The BoDs cannot demand when a market is buyers or seller favoured. They can however choose to wait for more favourable conditions or decide what was unacceptable a few months ago is now negotiable. The majors will know that the lowly copper price would no doubt have brought previous economic resources into bargain basket aisles and they would be looking for forced sell scenarios first. Either we price accordingly or take or resource off the market. The majors have the financial clout to pay the lowest they can.
I believe world events have scuppered any quick finish now tbh. We will maybe never know if Colin would have successfully sold BR this year to the benefit of shareholders. The gamble is does he spend Manica revenue on something that may not be there on other BR targets. Before someone pipes up and points out that we shouldn't be invested in explorers if we cannot understand that gamble... I agree but the guidance to quickly tie a bow on BR and sell it was hardly "normal" exploration gamble scenario (backed up by those uber positive interviews). Maybe such concerns are unfounded and a deal is still on but I find that increasingly unlikely that is still the case any time soon. If we have missed the boat this time around no doubt the world will settle itself and learn to live in peace so we can eventually enjoy the EV revolution and a healthy XTR SP. I stay invested but under no illusions that we are about to get a quick fairy tale ending. We will see.
Yes thanks to iceberg... but it shouldn't be up to iceberg to explain what is happening should it. There is a duty to be had in supporting the weak SP imho.
Late 2023 . Offered for sale sooner but I'm not expecting any shareholder bonanza before late 2023.
Steve, the implication that LTHs are lacking in understanding and knowledge is quite frankly offensive. We have had one particular post this morning that spells out exactly that. I was replying to that post. Of course it is up to each of us to determine if we wish to remain as holders depending on how we see the prospects. Could I point out that history is a useful tool in how we weigh up those prospects as we see them ? To be so dismissive of how Colin operates in historic situations could maybe be described as "lacking in knowledge and understanding" also ? FWIW I am comfortable with my position here as I feel my experience of the XTR journey has allowed me to weigh up realistically my expectations. This growing pitching of LTHs against the "new knowledgeable arrivals" is quite frankly unhelpful and I for one would appreciate if some of the arrogance was toned down.
Howezap Lordy Lordy. Quite some arrogance crammed into that post wasn't there :-)
The point is you don't KNOW how big it has become or what the average grades are until we have the official model. You dont KNOW if the change in comms in down to negotiations. You dont KNOW if Colin has been sincere even.
For your information I am fully aware of what the Bushranger story is and am comfortable with my research thank you very much ! I wouldn't wish to get involved in a "my dad's share holding is bigger than your dads share holding" but I would wager that many long term holders here have built up a sizable offering despite your KNOWING that we do not have the in depth knowledge or understanding ;-)
"Moving toward".
Hasn't that been the case ever since we acquired Bushranger though? I dont think repeating that a few weeks ago is new forward guidance .
The irritation I had over the years is that we get informed of an initial plan but when something changes to make that initial plan defunct we are left to join dots that are not valid any more. This causes the negativity. OK we don't know that has happened with Bushranger but new posters that have arrived since Bushranger should consider that longer term posters here are bringing some experience of previous poor comms to the discussion. Investors new and old want to believe the Bushranger story... but that doesn't mean it is a fully illustrated story or even if it has a good ending. I still don't know what the May/June deadline that Colin asserted would not be missed was all about. Having been a shareholder through previous "kept in the dark" periods I consider the possibility that things haven't gone to plan. I know Colin has difficulty in sharing "warts and all" but poor comms when things haven't gone to plan is a sure fire way of stoking the negativity. I agree with Andrew that 10p should be achievable even if the authors of the Bushranger tale planned a better ending.
Steve. How he described Bushranger generally regarding size.
Steve can I ask your opinion? Do you think Colin was guessing regarding "minerals that we think are down there" when he was describing the holes to us in the interviews :-)
Interesting discussion regarding delivery. I suppose we have to ask what it is we are hoping that Colin will deliver. For me delivery has to reflect in the SP. Can the SP performance be linked to the forward guidance ? Or does it not matter and delivery is making good on the promise of one big payout. What then if the forward guidance regarding Bushranger has been less than reliable ? As shareholders can we expect reliable forward guidance ?
I didn't think the xtr webpage was updated every week... but hey we learn something new every day ;-)
Bluebrazilians... I know his holding has increased over the last 6 months. Your post specifically said his holding has increased over the last week. I was asking how you knew his holding had increased over the last week ?
How do you know he has been adding over the last week ?
The dimensions given in that Sunday roast interview (1600 x 600 x 150) at 2.7t/m3 give us 389 tons of rock. No way are we getting 2mT CuEq from that at our grades so I don't think the 150m is correct ?
