Rolf Gerritsen, chief executive said: “This near term cashflow generative project has the potential to add substantial value to the company alongside our Gold Ridge Project”.

Gold Ridge in Arizona is MetalNRG’s existing project and bumper high grades in samples have sent the shares soaring recently.

MetalNRG PLC (LON:MNRG) has switched commodities to buy 75% of a Romanian company that owns the rights to an oil and gas concession for the next fifteen years, as well as appointing a new executive director to deliver the project.

The natural resource investor said the acquisition would involve an upfront payment and a free-carry component on the initial development capital.

MetalNRG added it is entering into the exclusivity agreement in collaboration with a London-based oil and gas investment specialist.

Pierpaolo Rocco has been hired as an executive director to lead the project, starting with due diligence, bringing with him twenty years’ experience of developing oil and gas projects for profitable outcomes.

Previously, Rocco has worked for major oilers such as Total, Eni, Shell, as well as small-caps like Subsea7, SBM, Saipem, and on projects ranging from field development to late-life extension strategies, in a variety of environments including near-shore works and deep-water developments.

The period for the new executive director and the rest of the team to carry out due diligence runs until 28 February, by which time MetalNRG hopes to have concluded the deal.

The transaction will be subject to shareholder and UK/Romanian regulatory approvals.

The purpose of the exclusivity agreement is to set out the heads of terms upon which the purchasing parties will acquire 75% of the issued share capital of the operating company from the Vendor, in consideration of an upfront payment and a free-carry component of the initial development capital. The agreement also sets the terms for the exclusivity period necessary to allow the purchasing parties to review and carry out due diligence on the transaction. The exclusivity period has commenced and will run until 28th February 2020.

The process is ongoing per plan and the initial indications, mainly from our site visit, are encouraging and suggest that the transaction could, based on current operational assumptions, meet our investment criteria. Specifically, under our plan we intend to establish exploration upside for the project and that we can develop short term cash-flow from the asset under review. As a result of these initial indications, further work has been commenced and we plan to report back to market once the due diligence has been completed.

The environmentally friendly plastics specialist said the approval provided “a new and immediate commercial opportunity in the western world’s largest market” and that it expected to see “considerable interest” for the use of d2p in the baking industry, where it already derives significant revenues from sales of its biodegradable d2w plastic products.

“d2p is synergistic with d2w biodegradable technology and is expected to be sold to many of our current customers as well as new ones”, Symphony said in a statement.

Michael Laurier, the company’s chief executive, said the company was “now in a position to move forward commercially and to bring this unique product to our global markets”.

“We believe that this will make a significant contribution to revenues in the medium term”, he added.

Another measure announced is the strengthening of diagnostic capacities in France. Thus, in Marseille, it will be possible to do 1000 tests per day and 400 in Paris. The means of screening will therefore be multiplied and FPP2 protective masks, effective in guarding against the disease, will be ordered in quantity for nursing staff.
