RE: Mass of excess stock piled up to dump?12 Feb 2023 16:18
and there's more...
"A third noted: "I got over £800 worth of stuff for £73 cos I had a £10 off code if you spend £80. Most was 90% off but everything I got has gone up in price and only 70% off now."
Another penned: "I got £307 worth of stuff for £39 - 3x jeans, 1x jacket, 1x dress, 6x tops.
"All coming tomorrow!"
And one more wrote: "I've been buying boohoo bits for a couple of weeks now lol my best bargain was a couple of days ago. "£145.00 for over a grands worth of clothes. "Now I need a bigger walk in because I have nowhere to put any of them."
All in all good marketing. These items are the scraps off the production line. It would cost more to store them than give them away. Money has been made on the initial launch. I imagine that 40% of a product line would need to be sold to breakeven. These stunts attract band awareness but can back-fire if done too often. Investors don't want to see high inventories without increasing the profit line.
A good one Jongle - it sticks where the sun shines.
