Cineworld now needs to find a way to gather the money sooner rather than later, or coming with a very good deal with Cineplex. And Cineworld is already struggling to make money due to its humongous debts - note that the November figures were not provided yesterday!
So another (heavily discounted to be attractive) placing looks very likely.

Its debt burden is so phenomenal ($8.3bn IIRC) that it’s only in a very busy month (October 2021) that it was cash positive. Note “cash positive”, not “Profitable”!!
And this morning’s first RNS did not give the November figures: that does not bode well.
So it MUST get cash to alleviate that debt burden: ie by issuing more shares.
And on top of it, it will now need to pay £750m approx to Cineplex - don’t assume an appeal will be successful.
So how will it find people willing to invest a large sum into Cineworld with such a sword dangling over its head?! Cineworld will have to make a placing at a big fat discount to make the risk worth it.
I don’t think Cineworld is dead, but I think that the likelihood of waking up with an RNS announcing a placing at 15-20p per share is too high to put a penny into it, at least not until the short term (re)financing is clear.

My SL got hit this morning. I was wrong about #THG, it may take a while longer for a meaningful recovery - probably made worse by the inflation and increased supply chain costs for all online (and brick and mortar) retailers, even in spite of THG's claim that such costs had been absorbed due to improved efficiencies in its RNS of 26 October 2021.

I'm out until I see at least some evidence of stabilisation.

It seems you were correct, a shake that’s been nicely bought into!

It does not look like a breakout is coming today and it never did (today that is). It was just wishful thinking, probably because the SP had risen minutely.
(It does not mean I think it won’t rise, there are just no such signals today.)

AO. (AO World) is not working either, but others are (incl. BOO).

Considering that no RNS has been released (i.e. no official reason), this is probably because there is too much demand to buy and/or sell.

And considering that the current conditions are clearly more favourable than not for THG, this is probably (i.e. we cannot yet be sure based on the info available) because there are too many people who want to buy its shares.

TrojanHorse - at £10-20k to have the right to see what was explicitly an "uncooked" rumour (that's the exclusive membership price to that site), I doubt anybody knows what the story was.

The Betaville subscription that allows to have access to that article is £10k - £20k for just one year!
(The owner of that site is a (former?) financial services and markets journalist who earns his living from that site.)
So I am almost certain that nobody who posts on the main social media has the money to spare and thus actually seen that article.
But MM publicly stated 1-2 months ago his thoughts on possibly making THG private again.

Do you realise the enormity of this? Of course there would be a reason for the FCA to check: the SP drops by 60/70% vs the IPO price for no business reason then the company gets bought at a price well below the IPO amount within 12-16 months of that IPO.
Clearly it could look like a manipulation of the SP to buy the company (ie take it private) at a super low price after the issuer (ie the company) has made loads on the back whomever subscribed to the IPO.

Your guess is as good as anyone’s. It can’t go too far below the IPO price however, or somebody could cry foul play to the FCA.

This does look fully legit and if made official, this may well be the catalyst for a turnaround.
I'm back in at 175.2, albeit with a moderate position as the chart still looks bearish, i.e. it's a clear flat-bottom triangle so from a pure T.A. point of view, this could go down a fair bit before it jumps up again.

I confirm that. The owner of that site charges a fortune to be able to view this gossip though.
